Petriedish's Disney December Double Date Trip Report..day 2

Well, we are back from a fabulous trip! This is my first attempt at a trip report....so here goes nothing!

First a little primer. My fiance Roddie and I have been to the world 2ce prior to this trip (all trips as adults/no kids) on this trip we were travelling with another couple Christian and Cathy who went to wdw for the first time in april of this year....needless to say we all love it and were very happy we could schedule a trip together!

Day 1 (December 3rd): we flew to Orlando from Halifax (connecting through Philly) flights were all on time and we arrived in Orlando by noon (quick pit stop at the airport for Kispy cremes) then we headed to Port Orleans French Quarter and checked in. We ordered groceries from Garden Grocer and custom Tshirts form Celebration Shirts and both were ready and waiting for us when we arrived. We were in building 3 nice and close to the main building on the 2nd floor, Roddie and I had a corner room and Christian and Cathy were right next door. POFQ looked great all decked out for the holidays!

We spent the afternoon at Downtown Disney shopping and just generally loving being in our favorite place! Stops at Ghiradelli and Earl of Sandwich....yum yum yum...but we couldn't fill up too much because we had ADRs at O'hana! A favorite

O'hana was quite backed up and we didn't get a table till 45 mins after our ADR time...but we killed time sipping Lapu Lapu's and chatting about all the fun things we had planned for the week. Christian and Cathy are both vegetarians so our server brought out some special stir frys and hummus plates for them. Roddie and I on the other hand went into carnivore mode. The meal was great, the beef was cooked to a perfect medium and not at all dry (i know that can sometimes be a problem at O'hana)
But its O'hana and everything is just an appetizer until you get to the bread pudding...it did not disappoint! We originally hoped to finish our meal before the fireworks then watch them from the beach, but since we were so late being seated we watched them from in the restaurant...not a great view but we could still see them and we had lots more opportunity to see them through the week

Day 2:
Breakfast in the room then off to Hollywood Studios! Our fast passes were for Star Tours, Fantasmic and Tower of Terror. Our experience with fast pass plus was mixed...of our 6 days in the parks the band scanned properly only once. We had to bring up the app and show our fast pass selections were correct each time, but we all had phones so it wasn't too bad. The Fantasmic fastpass was useless, we were there a1/2 hour early and still didn't get a seat, so we just skipped it and rode rides.

We rode all our favorites! And I saw the Nemo Show for the first time and thought it was really fun. I also ate at Pizza Planet for the first time. I had the antipasto salad which was pretty good, but the cappuccino cupcake was killer! I also drew a character in the animation class for the first time...I really enjoyed that too

We loved the Osbourne Lights...they were even better than I imagined they would be (I especially loved trading real for fake snow)

We had an ADR for just Roddie and I at the Turf Club. We thought the food was fantastic! Service was good/okay. I had the wedge caeser salad to start, steak with lobster fondue and espresso cake for dessert...Roddie had the same except he started with the house salad and had the apple crumble for dessert. (we only remembered to get food photos of the first course...sorry)

We got Cathy to try TOT...judging from this photo she did...i think it might be her last time too rolling
