Picked Places to Eat!

Our next vacation will include, me, my husband, his mother and our 3 kids, who will be 6, 3 and 2. Here's my itinerary thus far:

Arrival Day: Wed. 4/29

Check in at Polynesian mid afternoon
Visit Downtown Disney
Eat at one of these:
Rainforest Cafe
TRex - is that the name?
Earl of Sandwich
Wolfgang Puck Express
Ghirardelli for milkshakes!
*I am leaning towards Earl's*

Day 1: Thurs. 4/30

Animal Kingdom - morning to early afternoon
Flame Tree BBQ - lunch
Back to Poly to relax and freshen up
Chef Mickey's for dinner

Day 2: Fri. 5/1

Magic Kingdom
Crystal Palace - breakfast
Cosmic Ray's Starlight Cafe lunch or dinner
No evening plans - maybe see Wishes on a boat?

Day 3: Sat. 5/2

Hollywood Studios
Captain Cook's at Poly for quick breakfast
Sci-Fi Dine in Theater - lunch

Day 4: Sun. 5/3

Ohana- breakfast
Epcot for the day
Coral Reef - early dinner

Day 5: Mon. 5/4

Relaxing morning at Resort
Teppan Edo lunch (Epcot Japan)
Free day stay at Epcot, go to Magic Kingdom, hang out at resort?
1900 Park Fare dinner (Grand Floridian) - must see Cinderella and the Prince wink

Day 6: Tues. 5/5

Free day
Whispering Canyon Cafe - breakfast (Wilderness Lodge Resort)
Kona Cafe at Poly for dinner

Departure Day: Wed. 5/6
No plans!

Since we will have kids, I wanted to schedule breakfasts - it's their favorite meal, and if we have a dinner, I want it earl (between 4 and 5 pm)

Really? We've been to Rainforest (well, my husband and I - not the kids or MIL)
I hear it's like Rainforest but with Dinosaurs?

I think that's exactly right from what I've heard.

I am guessing that's not part of the Dining Plan then either. Can you still make reservations? Guess i could go look that info up! laugh

Your itinerary looks awesome!! I love all the places you're eating (and that you've got a LOT of rest time in there...heaven!) Also, TRex and Rainforest are NOT on the dining plan, but express and earl's are. I can vouch for earl's--don't expect much but a really good deli, but it IS a really good deli. Smile I also like the garlic mashed potatoes at wolfgang puck express.

Don't forget to get a Dole Whip as SOON as you check into the Poly (you can get 'em at Captain Cook's I hear!).

And did you get your breakfast on Friday early enough to get into the Magic Kingdom before the gates open? That's fun for photo ops... biggrin

Those Dole whips ROCK!
I make ADRs on Thursday - I will see if I can get ressies early so that we can be at the park before gates open!!!

Great itinerary! We love Teppan Edo and Whispering Canyon can be fun, too. One thing I've noticed there is that if you go during uncrowded times, it's less fun. I like to make reservations at restaurants like that during peak eating times so that there's lots of people for the waiters to "play around" with.

Have you eaten there before?

Ohhh hey, that's a good point!
I have never eaten at either place. My MIL and husband wanted to stay at the Wilderness Lodge but, I figured with 3 kids, monorail transportation to the MK and Epcot would be best, so we picked the Polynesian. I figure, a meal at Whispering canyon was a good idea!

Good choices.

I have not eaten at Teppan Edo so will be anxious to see how you like it. I have read mostly good reviews.

I truly believe that Dole Whips are healthy. There must be at least two or three servings of fruit in there, right? awesome

And, yeah, see if you can make an ADR at Crystal Palace between 8am and 9am. There's nothing like walking up main street when it's completely empty!! You just have to be sure that there isn't an extra magic hour at the MK that day.

So excited for your trip!

(Also, great choice on WL vs. Poly--being on the monorail will probably be so much easier than having to brave that WL boat during busy times of day with the kiddos.)

I am (not so) patiently waiting for the May hours to come out but I don't see that happening before tomorrow, laugh

When will the May hours be posted? Disney's screwing around with their website and "days before you can book your dining" so much lately that I have no idea when that info will be available these days.
