I hear that a script writer has been hired for Pirates 5 and that captain Jack is on board. What do you think about this? Are you excited to see him up to his old antics again, or are they beating the horse to death?

I'm ready for this to be done. Should have stopped at three. I'm not even sure I've watched the most recent one.

Can't get enough of "Jack Sparrow"!
I'll check the reviews first. I thought number 4 in the series was the second best "Pirates" after the original movie, so I have no issue with making number 5. But it has to be entertaining, fun, and reasonably good - I don't expect an Oscar-worthy film, but it should be good for its genre.
Wasn't the 4th movie him and Barbossa hanging out and doing piratey things? I haven't seen it but I heard that's what it was and that it was better than 2 and 3. We'll see what kind of story they bring out with this one.
Fellow Americans, I hear your tambourines inside my head and that's no lie!
The 4th, "On Stranger Tides" was DEFINATELY better than the 2nd and 3rd. This one had "Blackbeard" and the mermaids. The 2nd "Dead Man's Chest" was okay but the 3rd, "At World's End" was ridiculous. Way too many storylines going at once. Nothing beats the 1st, "Curse of the Black Pearl". Total classic!

That's funny, Poppet; I thought 3 was vaguely tolerable but 2 was absolutely dreadful. Not a big fan of either one, though. I could own 1 and 4 on disk and skip 2 and 3 without feeling as if I were missing anything at all.

The 3rd drove me crazy. It's like they really didn't know where to go with the story. The plot line was all over the place and Elizabeth Swan was extremely annoying! The only ones we own are the 1st and 4th.
