Planning a surprise trip in March- Need feedback on Caribbean Beach Resort

I need all the Disney experts to weigh in here as I have only stayed at POR and POFQ in the moderate category. I'm thinking of surprising my daughter for her graduation from Cosmetology school with a mom and daughter trip to Disney (she has had a tough time lately and I think some Disney Magic just might be the thing!!) The dates for CBR are very reasonable the first of March and I am thinking of staying there. I'm looking for feedback from anyone who has stayed there and how they liked it....
What should I request??

Hey!!
We have stayed at CBR a few times and really enjoyed it. The place is fairly large and the rooms are nice. There are lots of bus stops, so you are near to one wherever you are. The food court is ok. Not my favorite of the moderates, but it is convenient to get snacks and/or breakfast.
We have also stayed at PORS and POFQ and like those better. The food court is better at these resorts too.
Congrats to daughter!! That will be a fun trip wherever you decide to stay. clapping

We stayed there October 2012 and were kind of meh about it. It was perfectly fine, but there was no real wow factor and the resort was pretty spread out. If you're not looking to be in your room a ton and are more just looking for a place to sleep, it gets the job done. If you do decide to stay there, I recommend requesting the Jamaica building. That is where we where and were the first pick up and drop off for the buses.

Like 93boomer, we prefer POR over CBR. We have stayed at both places twice and the food court at POR is so much better that CBR. Of course, I would choose CBR over no Disney resort at all. The rooms were clean and we had no issues with buses and it's location is pretty central.

We've stayed there too. Nothing wrong with the resort, it is vast though. Try and get a room in building 45 in Jamaica or bldg 51 in Aruba. They are right across the lake from the food court building and close to a bus stop. We stayed in bldg 45 several times and really liked it.

These are great suggestions!! Thanks so much for the feedback. We probably won't spend much time at all in the room so I will probably give it a try. POR looks to be really booked so I would much rather stay at a less busy place.

Whoo Hoo!! Back to Disney in several months!! Going to book this weekend!!

CBR also has pirate themed rooms if you want to do something a little extra special for her. Not sure if she likes pirates at all. I stayed one night there and it wasn't bad. I want to go back and do a full stay to get a better opinion since we didn't use anything but the room.

45 in Jamaica is where we stayed, too. Right by the bus stop.

Yup, it was a great location, even though we never used a bus.

There are also "Finding Nemo" rooms too. We stayed there a couple of years ago. Prefer POR & FQ much better. This resort is nice but HUGE. We were in "Martinique" which seemed like the furthest away from everything. Bus wait time was 20 min and we were always the last to be picked up and dropped off. Rooms were clean but it didn't knock my socks off. If you like that theme you will enjoy it.

I liked it. I like the overall theme and atmosphere, but it is a large spread out resort. The food court stuff doesn't matter to me. It's Disney, you can eat anywhere.
