Plans changing again....

So it looks like we are switching our 10th anniv trip from the first week of Dec to Jersey Week, the 2nd week in November 2012 so some teacher couples can join us, but because even that's up in the air we are not going to rent AKL DVC points and book at POFQ instead so we can adjust dates on the fly if necessary. We are even toying with booking a Nov and Dec trip and then cancelling the one we don't need.

Anywho, we've never stayed at a Mod, just Deluxe and Value.

Anyone stayed at POFQ? It interests me because of it's small size, but I'm concerned about sometimes having to pick up all the bus stops at Riverside. Does booking 2 dates make sense?

Comments, ideas, suggestions?

Please discuss yay

My husband and I stayed at POFQ for our honeymoon in March 2009. It was wonderful. The rooms were beautiful and the grounds are gorgeous. We also liked that it was a smaller resort. During our stay there were separate buses for FQ that did not stop at Riverside.

We just stayed at POFQ this past May. We got a room that had been refurbished. BEAUTIFUL! Queen size beds are awesome too! The longest we had to wait for a bus was 5 min. We never stopped at Riverside. It was strictly from POFQ to the parks and back.

The resort is gorgeous! Kind of reminded me of the squares around downtown Savannah, GA.

You will not regret staying there!

We have stayed at the POFQ 3 times now, and will be there again in April. We love it. It's so tranquil and the grounds are really lush. And I think the recent refurb will make it that much better. Gets 2 thumbs up from us. Some pics from our 2008 trip posted here:

We've never used the bus service, so I can't speak to that at all.

Ok, so I know Jeresy Week is the week in November when all Jersey schools have off..but I thought they had off because of Teacher Conferences..since teachers are coming with you I'm obviously wrong...so why do they have off that week? And more importantly..how can I get a South Carolina week in the middle of November? Cause that'd be awesome.

I have to echo everyones opinions on POFQ. We stayed there in June and it was great. Very quiet and relaxing. Also it has a completely separate bus from the POR.

We really loved POFQ and are returning this February. The bus thing. Any time a bus filled up at FQ it went directly to the park. The only times we went to POR was when we were mainly empty. But that was when we were leaving early for RD.

I agree with the others. The theming is beautiful, and tranquil. And the scope of the place makes it easy to deal with. I recommend it without hesitation.

I know it sounds odd, but it's true. The kids have off 2 days that week for the NJ Teachers convention in Atlantic City so parents pull them for the whole week. I've lived in NJ for 10 years and i've yet to meet a teacher who attends the convention, its always confused me, don't know why the thing exists, but it's been going on for years.

So our teacher friends are thinking of heading down the night of their last school day and coming back late Sunday night to be back in school on Monday. We'd be down the whole week plus 3 days.

Virginia where I grew didn't have a VA week either, so I'd guess South Carolina isn't going to join in anytime soon. sarcastic

Sounds like everyone likes the resort and you've eased my bus worries. I always stay at resorts that don't share buses, so that makes me happy to hear.
