Pop Century Resort Room Question

First, just a little news: yay If any of you read my question about MVMCP you'll know I was waiting to see if I could actually get the time off to take the vacation, and it turns out, I can! clapping
So now that that's out of the way, I have another question. And before you ask, yes, I have read several reviews, several sites, done searches on here and on Google, but have found conflicting results. I am looking for a room that will be quiet in PC. I want the convenience of staying on a Disney property with all of their amenities, but do not want to be bothered with screaming children all three nights.
And I know you're probably thinking, "Well then, Mrs. Skellington, you should probably NOT stay at this resort." Sadly though, this is the only option within my budget, to be able to stay on Disney property. I figured it would be the best option too, as I am traveling solo, and safety and proximity are a concern. I have also been trying to find something close, that has most of what I am looking for, but I get the feeling that staying on property is my best option. Also, seeing as how I am not sure when, or even IF, I make it back to the World, I'd like to spoil myself a bit.
The only thing that seemed to be mentioned over and over again was to request a room away from a pool. Any particular building I should try for? I plan on making my reservations over the phone, since I do have a few more requests. Just thought if I knew what I was talking about before I called them, it might make it easier for all of us. Thank you!

Building 3 - (Tramp), top floor, overlooking the lake and Art of Animation resort. It's a quick trip to the food court, and the pool is down the elevator and around a corner, but we found it to be really quiet. There was a cheerleading competition going on while we were there, and we know the teams were practising, but we rarely heard them at all.

Plus you get to see the high fireworks from Epcot at night if you are back to your room then.

That sounds pretty perfect, thanks!
It's funny you mention the cheerleaders too ... Part of the reason I picked the dates I did was because I get to miss the Thanksgiving rush, but I get there right before the cheerleading and football teams do!

We have stayed in 4 different pop rooms around the resort and had no issues. The one thing they all had in common was views of the pond. If your calling just let them know noise is a concern to you and you would like a well lit area as your traveling alone. They have been very accommodating to any if our requests.

I stayed on the first floor of building 1 (Lady building) facing the bowling pin pool, but down the way a little toward Classic Hall. We had zero problems with people in that pool late at night, but it was early February so that may have had something to do with it. laugh

I am thinking of requesting the part of the building finngirl suggested for my trip in September, as it will be warmer so there's a more likely chance of kids being out at the pool later.

I've stayed in the 50s section three times and 60s once. All standard rooms and they were all quiet.

Thank you all! Sounds like the 50's or 60's are where it's at. You've all been so helpful, I'll be sure to do a pre-trip report as soon as everything else gets booked!
And yes, Magic Mirror ... that was the best news all week! clapping

I've heard great things about the 50s section for quietness!

I'm so excited for you!! Great time of year to visit and so glad that your work schedule is allowing it, Skellington! Smile

90s building, facing the small parking lot out back instead of the pool area. Very quiet.

I think as long as the room isn't a pool view room, you should be fine. I stayed in the 90s building and while it's a long walk from the lobby and food court, it was pretty quiet for the most part when I stayed there back in 2010.

The resort is mostly quiet at night, trust me, I used to work there during the nights. Even the '60s, the main pool area, is pretty quiet at night.

I've been looking into the 90's building ... It seems like the general consensus was the 50's or the 90's, as long as it wasn't near a pool. I'm a little worried about the walk from the bus to the 90's though. I try to walk at least 40 miles a week now (hopefully doing more over the summer and fall before the winter brings the bitter cold and snow) but I am not quite sure what type of mood I'll be in after visiting the parks on those particular days. I also know I am going during one of the least visited weeks (Nov 30-Dec 3) so I'll probably just call and ask how things are looking. If all else fails, I'll just tell them to stick me in the 90's facing the parking lot!
Thanks again for your input! muchlove

We stayed (I believe) in the 70's (?), 3rd floor on the back side (we could see what would be the new resort in basic abandonment).
If the view wasn't great, it was quiet and basically when we return to the resort it is to fall into bed. I remember it being a hike to the front, but I was also carrying 5 mugs for coffee and hot chocolate for the family (I was a slave in those days). We liked it there, but the double beds just aren't our cup of tea anymore so we go to queens.

Yeah part of the reason I want to call is to see if I can get a king sized bed. I know that might seem a little snobbish of me, but I actually feel more guilty taking up a room with TWO beds, when I only need one.

We actually looked into that when FD came out but we were told they didn't have any...not sure if they don't offer them or they were all booked.

Actually, the walk from the 90s building to the buses isn't all that bad if you don't mind cutting across a parking lot. We thought our room was quite convenient to the bus stops - we were in the 90s wing closes to the buses.

I have stayed at Pop Century at least twice a year since 1996. Sometimes more. I never remember screaming kids being a problem.

Yeah, I think I read on one site they have about 68. I know they are super rare, but they do exist. Like I said, I think my best bet is just to call them. As long as I have a quiet room with a bathtub, I don't care too much else about the hotel.

We stayed in the 80's building 3rd floor facing the pool two years ago and it was really quiet even though we were facing the pool. It was nice because we were on a corner and still got to enjoy the smaller pool but didn't have to deal with the crowds at the big pool. I would always recommend Pop to anyone who wants to do Disney on a budget. We love it!
