A day of touring

Hi All! Hope everyone is doing well on this wonderful Friday! I have the day off and school is out but I've been up for hours...

I was sitting here thinking about our "extra" day in the park. We added an extra day so that we could get the DDP. Now while I could spend ALL DAY EVERYDAY in the parks, the hubby has different thoughts. I was thinking of hitting DTD and then checking out a couple of the hotels (maybe having a drink or an appetizer at each) and then a park for the evening.

Which hotels are your favorites that are must see??
Any favorite lounges, and by lounges I mean cocktails...

I have WL on my radar but since we have an ADR there one evening I will save it for that day...
We also have ADRs for the Poly and AKL

Also, can we just drive right up to these places??? Just let them know we are dining there??? How does that work?

I love doing the monorail loop hotel tour. Great way to see 3 hotels and who doesn't want to spend more time on the monorail? Love the idea of a drink/appetiser in each too, great way to soak in the atmosphere.

I love the Glowtini in Victoria Falls AKL, very tasty, think I paid $8 for it and of course, it glows! I'm sold!

If you can, check out the bar in POR, especially on a piano Bob night!

I'm a fan of the monorail tour as well - and if the weather is particularly beautiful you can do a portion of it by water if you want to include Wilderness Lodge and Fort Wilderness.

sometimes I will jump on the monorail just to seat down, relax and enjoy the view...no break from the parks.

The monorail loop is a good one for the Cocktails. Hit the Wave Lounge, the Cove Bar by the pool & The Outer Rim that looks out over Bay Lake and then of course the California Grill Lounge if you can get in there early enough. Next the Poly with Tambo Lounge at 'Ohana and the Bare Foot Bar at the pool. Last would be Citricos Lounge and Mizner's Lounge at the Grand Floridian. I don't think I forgot any there.

Oh and regarding parking, yes that's all you have to say.

I'd def do a Monorail Bar Crawl! Though I would also throw in the Territory Lounge at Wilderness Lodge just because their food menu sounds amazing (drunken donuts! beer cheese fondue!).

While I love a good monorail ride, there is also the Boardwalk area to check out. There are street performers out in the evening and lots of nice places to sit and relax during the day. For drinks, there is a margarita booth as well as The Big River Brewing Works with their own beer on tap. And of course, ESPN is there too with food and drinks and sports on all their TV's.

Have fun choosing! Or you could do both?

When we were there in Mar.of this year the Drunken Donuts had been taken off the menu.

Where from and where to? You can catch the boat to The Boardwalk from the entrance of DHS as well as from the International Gateway entrance to Epcot (the back door entrance). It's also a very nice walk from either place.

Cool thanks!

With all the construction at the Poly, other than hitting the lounge, is there much to see? I'm sad we are going to miss the waterfall, I am sure it will be gone by November huh (if not already)

I know I want to see the inside of the WL and the geyser. Are there any other things at the resorts I should keep an eye out for???

I have an updated TR I'm working on to keep myself straight, once I get the last couple decisions on ADRs made I will have it all ready!!!

Yes the waterfall is totally behind construction walls now. They do have pictures of what it will all look like when it's done hanging on the walls now. If you can, and this goes out to anyone who is going to stop in at the poly, get some good photos of the construction going on for me please! I can always use it for the Tikiman's pages. He is always looking for more pictures.
