Updates at Villas at WL

Buffalo Bill and I got back home last night from a lovely stay at VWL. I wanted to share a few quick observations on the room updates.

  • The rooms seem much brighter with the new furniture and linens!
  • The new lighting (kitchen ceiling and bathroom sconces) is a HUGE improvement!
  • Storage is a little strange as one of the bedside tables has a hinged door that opens (only if nothing is in front of it on the floor) - no drawers at all
  • The kitchen utensils have all been replaced!
  • The refrigerator situation is weird - it was sticking way out into the kitchen - so I pushed it back and found that you can't open the door! Although the "space" is adequate - the type of refrig door can't be accommodated. Also of note is the "junior" size refrigerator. There is one tiny ice cube tray - and I do mean tiny! It couldn't have been larger than 4" x 6"! So happy I had a couple in my owner's locker (trays - not ice cubes silly ). Lastly - in order to fit a Brita pitcher in the frig, I had to take out a shelf. No way to adjust it to allow it to fit.

That's all for now - just wanted to share before I forget! mickey

Sorry - should have mentioned that! We had a 1 bedroom on the 4th floor. They were trying to finish up the upgrades while we were there - changing out towel bars, retacking molding, etc. I'm hoping they will add robe/towel hooks on the back of the bathroom doors as there just isn't enough space to hang wet towels.

The pedestal sink still had the old style faucet but the sink in the vanity area by the tub had a lovely new faucet in an antique nickel finish. Here's hoping Bill got some pics...if not, we'll take some when we're back there in 2 weeks. yay

Hey shorty, I have been using these a lot lately. Easy to put up and take down without causing any damage.

Thanks MrHub! My fingers are still crossed that they will add hooks to the back of the doors..... waiting I believe they had them there prior to the refurb but I could be mistaken....my memory isn't what it used to be.... wheelchair

We just got back from a long weekend at VWL - this time we had a 2BR on the 5th floor. The room renovations are complete and this time I managed to remember to take pics of the weird ice cube tray. For the ice cube tray picture - I placed a full size tray next to the one provided in the new frig. confused

So true...which is why the larger tray is now a permanent resident in my Owner's Locker! laugh
