Possible turn of events

We are remodeling our basement - I now work full time from home and I don't have an office. It's near impossible for me to work efficiently or speak to clients on the phone when my desk is in the living room - where everyone else congregates. We were trying to plan and budget for a renovation but the other week i just couldn't take t anymore and said let's do it NOW!

So far, this basement project has cost us about $2,000 in supplies, $2,000 for carpet/installation and we are paying Dave (neighbor/contractor) $2,000 for doing the work as CJ is helping him. That's $6,000 waiting

Honestly, this is going to be so nice when it's finished. We have such a huge basement, no sense letting all that space go to waste but now I have no DVC down payment, and well, with CJ getting a car, I kinda figured that having another monthly bill was not a good idea.

We 'financed' the carpet with Empire. We get one year to pay the $2,000 without interest/finance charges so realistically I could pay that off in a few months but since I have a year I'll have time to save! This means....

I
may get my DVC!!! I will have all debt from this renovation paid by September/October. Then, I
will be able to put a down payment on Bay Lake Towers!!!

This is, of course, as long as all goes as planned.
I was hoping my boss would take CJ on part time (he was asking for $1,500/month) but at this moment she is not ready to make that move so he will continue to work as a blogger/article writer making about $400 - $500 a month - that's enough money to pay his car payment every month.

I make a flat $2,000 a month and then about another $350 on the side - but that goes to pay taxes as I am an independent contractor - CJ brings home about $3,000 a month working full time. That's around to $5,500 a month (not including my 'tax money') and the only debt we'll have is a mortgage and 2 car payments. That is about $1, 800 total. - I know this a lot of personal info - I don't mind sharing. Sometimes writing it out and having a 3rd party look at it helps.

Part of my $2,000 would go towards paying the DVC every month and I would pay more than I need to s I can have it paid off in 2 years. CJ is making enough money to pay 'his' car payment. This just might work out...

Yayayayaaya!

We definitely do, and money aside for the kids.

Plus, we have no credit card debt (except for the bit we put on the cc for the renovation, which is what I need to pay off) so we have a $15,000 line of credit as well.

I want BLT because it's new, it's an excellent location and we do plan 11 months out. Heck, I was planning our next trip this year while I was in Disney! laugh

Since we're doing #s, what does the maintenance fee + payment on DVC work out to?

I don't know, depends on how many points I buy, how much I put as a down payment and those are 2 things we haven't finalized yet - and then of course what the maintenance fee is - I don't have any hard numbers - that is the next step!

No, I haven't spoken to my Guide yet. Right now we're concentrating on the basement remodel we're doing - then once we see where that puts us, financially, we'll talk DVC mickey

Yes, the remodel is done and it set us back about $5 K but I can 'make that back' by September/October so that is when we'll be ready to buy!
