Which resorts are within walking distance of EPCOT, and have you stayed in any of them? If so, what are your thoughts?
Beach Club, Yacht Club, and Boardwalk Inn are all walking distance to EPCOT. I've stayed at Beach Club a long time ago and thought it was nice.

We stayed at the Yacht Club 2 yrs ago. It took us less than 5 min to walk over to Epcot from our room. You enter France's gateway. Awesome!!!! Yacht Club is a great resort especially if you are into the "Nautical" theme. It's a quiet resort as well and you share Storm Along Bay with the Beach Club.
What they said.
We stayed at the Beachclub in 2009. Our list of pros and cons:
Pros (I'm sure there are more, but these are the first ones that come to mind)
Omg so close to Epcot!! It's pretty cool to be able to walk right over to World Showcase
It's also only about a 10-15 minute walk to HS. Or you can take the boat to HS as well.
The pool is awesome! Sandy bottom and lazy river
Movie night on the beach! Totally fun.
Cons
It's big and it was a maze to get to and from our room. Unlike other resorts, like POFQ for example, which has multiple smaller buildings, this is one big resort. (I know, hardly a big issue! But it was kinda annoying to me for some reason)
They do have a lot of pool activities for kids, including somewhat loud music in the afternoon. And our room faced the pool, so afternoon naps were a big challenging.
We enjoyed staying there, and we would like to try some of the other deluxe resorts at some point. But I still love the grounds of the Port Orleans resorts for relaxing and romanticism.
Jeff the Sandy bottom pool is Storm Along Bay at the Beach Club. The Beach club is much smaller than the Boardwalk. It is my favorite resort and I have stayed there 20+ times. No rooms face the pool at Beach Club.

Aren't there room that face Luna Park (pool) at the Boardwalk Inn?

Meant Beach Club. Oops! But we did have a room at the beach club directly facing the pool.
The Swan and Dolphin are also within walking distance to Epcot(about 5 minutes past Boardwalk and Yacht Club). Another option instead of walking, are the friendship boats that run between Epcot and the Studios, stopping at all of the resorts mentioned, on the way.
We stay at BWV all the time, as it is our home resort. Really enjoy sitting at a table, relaxing on the Boardwalk with a beverage or bite to eat, after Illuminations. All of the Epcot resorts are good choices, and are walkable to both Epcot and the Studios.
Aren't there room that face Luna Park (pool) at the Boardwalk Inn?
The rooms that face the Luna Park Pool are the Boardwalk Villas(DVC). Boardwalk Inn rooms would be those located behind ESPN Club/Bakery/Kouzzina.

Thoughts? I have stayed there for business meeting we have - there is a rotation of sites for our meetings and WDW comes up every 2-3 years - we are scheduled to be there in Dec 2013. I am not a big fan of Swan/Dolphin. Rooms feel dated. Just doesn't feel "Disneylike" - feels like another hotel for me. Plus ME does not serve them from MCO, so you will have to find transportation. The nice thing is that it is close to EPCOT and HS and the boats are very convenient to both places. Also you can get to Boardwalk easily to eat there or any of the other 3 resorts.

We're thinking of doing a Disney Cruise out of Cape Canaveral (which is either a 3 or 4 nighter) and we'll have one night left before we hop the auto-train home, and I was thinking one night at a Disney resort and a day at EPCOT. Thought it might be fun to stay within walking distance since we'll only be there for one day. Thanks for the reviews! Keep em coming!
We stayed at the Dolphin on one of our Disney vacations. We got a really good deal on the room rate, it was less than a Disney moderate but the room was more like a deluxe. The hotel was excellent with a lovely pool and I think there are 19 bars and restaurants in the Swan and Dolphin! It was walking distance to Hollywood Studios and Epcot. It was an easy walk in the winter when we were there, but it might seem quite long in the heat of a Florida summer. The hotel was a little bit more corporate in style and didn't quite have the Disney magic but the rooms, facilities and service were excellent.

I don't know about Storm Along Bay, but there are rooms that face the quite pool at the Beach Club Villas and rooms that face the beach pool at the Beach Club. Jeff I agree with you, it is massive and maze like, especially if you stay in the Villas. That's why we won't usually stay there.
We have stayed in the Beach Club Villas and they are really nice. We had a good view of the back of the Clown Pool, but didn't mind it a bit. Close to coffee in the morning down on the Board Walk, they just don't open early enough. I think every resort should have a central location that has coffee and drinks 24/7.
