I was trying to go full alliteration there, but I couldn't find a decent synonym for vacation that starts with S.
I decided to follow Allie's suit and do this on the 60 day mark. I had to work all day so I only just did online check-in for my stay at Pop Century and made my FP+ selections and YAY I was able to schedule everything I wanted for pretty much the exact times I wanted!!
So here's who's going!
Me (Sarah! ... repping my Breaking Bad love with a Los Pollos Hermanos shirt), I'm 24, and I'm slowly working my way up the retail ladder at arguably the most famous department store. I live just south of Atlanta, Georgia and believe it or not I had never been to Disney, let alone FLORIDA, until February of 2013 when I took my first trip to WDW with one of my sister's and a friend! That trip (unfortunately for my bank account) got me absolutely hooked. This will be my first time returning to the parks since that trip (though I've been instead those entrance gates on two trips since for various things)!
My 18 year old sister, Sandi (with one of our dogs). She's never been to WDW before and since she turned 18 and graduated high school in May, I'm taking her for a combo birthday/grad gift (though she's paying her half of the hotel room and food, I paid for her park tickets). She's really weird and awesome, and she's determined to do anything and everything related to her favorite Disney movie, Aladdin, while we're down there.
And here's the itinerary!
Sunday, September 7th
We depart from home no later than 5am, with hopes of checking in at Pop Century no later than noon. My hope is to be in the MK by 1!! I'm still really disappointed Disney switched around EMH, so we don't have that extra two hours from 10-midnight this night, buuuut considering we'll have been up since around 4, I'm viewing it as the World telling us to go to bed early that night! Here's my gameplan as of right now:
- Eat lunch at Columbia Harbour House upon arrival
- Fast passes for BTMRR from 1:25-2:25 and Splash Mountain from 2:30-3:30!
- Do as much in Frontierland/Adventureland/Liberty Square as possible
- We HAVE to catch Philharmagic this day as it goes down for refurbishment for the remainder of our trip on Monday
- Seven Dwarfs Mine Train FP at 6:35!!
- Hopefully catch Festival of Fantasy (from Frontierland), Main Street Electrical Parade and Wishes. I have never seen any of them in full.
Monday, September 8th
EPCOT day!! I'm hoping to rope drop so we can get to Test Track ASAP and hopefully ride it more than once without much of a wait. Notables:
- FPs for Soarin', Spaceship Earth, and Maelstrom!
- Try to do as much in Future World as possible before 12/1 where we'll start doing World Showcase, starting in Mexico! Our Maelstrom FP is for 1:25-2:25 so this should work out splendidly.
- Snack around the world! I don't care to drink much, and Sandi obviously can't, so I'm going to snack around the world as much as I can. Probably won't eat in EVERY country, but I'll see what we can do.
- Must try snacks/drinks: School Bread, Tipsy Ducks In Love, Grand Marnier Slush, Nudel Gratin, Ice Cream in France
- Illuminations!!
Tuesday, September 9th
Hollywood Studios and Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party!!! I chose Hollywood Studios this day so I could take full advantage of FP+ this day. I'll use my three there and depending on when we get to MK, we may score one before the party starts.
- FP+ for Toy Story Midway Mania (which I have never been on!), Tower of Terror (my FAVORITE), and Star Tours!
- I really want to walk through some of the exhibits and museums here, as Sandi and I are both pretty passionate about film.
- Track down that Carrot Cake Cookie!!
- ADR (the only one!) for Beaches and Cream at 3pm. A nice sit-down meal, but it's quick enough that hopefully we'll get to MK before 5.
- MNSSHP!! Obviously neither of us have been. I'm super excited. I really want to meet the Seven Dwarfs, and I'm sure Sandi will want to meet both combinations of the four main Aladdin characters. Also Boo To You, HalloWishes, and Villains Mix and Mingle is a must. We'll probably skip trick or treating because ew.
Wednesday, September 10th!
Animal Kingdom and Hollywood Studios (part 2: electric boogaloo!). I'm skipping FP+ at AK as it's supposed to be a super slow week, and I think we'll be fine if we utilize rope drop. I'm saving the FP so we can definitely ride at least Tower of Terror later at DHS.
- Main goals this day is to ride Expedition Everest as many times as possible, and to see Fantasmic!
- Will probably be at AK until at least 3 PM, but it may be shorter or longer depending on how fast we do everything. If it's before 3, we'll probably go take a nap before we go to DHS. If it's after, we'll go straight to DHS.
- My plan is to eat dinner at the Tune-In Lounge this night, but that's subject to change.
- I have FP's for Star Tours, Rock 'N' Roller Coaster, and Tower of Terror but the only one I REALLY care about is Tower of Terror.
Thursday, September 11th
Last day in the parks. My plan right now is to rope drop EMH at MK. Then who knows after that! We'll probably take a loop or two on the monorail, but I don't really have anything set for this day.
- I do have FP's for Space Mountain, Haunted Mansion and Seven Dwarfs Mine Train.
- catch anything we may have missed on Sunday/Tuesday.
- May go to EPCOT for lunch?
- Come back to MK in the evening to either take advantage of low wait times during MSEP/Wishes, or to view those again!
Friday, September 12th
Time to come home. We'll be doing Downtown Disney before we leave, though! I have to have my Earl of Sandwich and maybe do a bit of shopping. We'll probably leave WDW around 2-3.
After that, I won't have to be at work until at LEAST the following Monday, so I should be well rested from what is sure to be a crazy and fun trip!! And now that this one's pretty much in the bag, is it time to start planning my 2016 trip for my baby sister's 18th birthday??
