Saratoga Springs or OKW?

We have an impromptu WDW trip coming up 31 Aug - 9 September and have a choice between the studio at OKW, not near hospitality house or a studio at Saratoga Springs. I can't get my husband to agree to a split stay so other than AKL-Jambo these are our choices. It's just my hubby and I so I'd love your recommendations. mickey

We've stayed at each one time and I very slightly preferred Saratoga. We were lucky to have an excellent view at both resorts. At OKW, we stayed in a 2BR as opposed to a studio at SSR, so obviously the room was nicer at OKW. The boat to DTD is a little faster from Saratoga and I think the walking path is open again--a big benefit as parking at DTD is still terrible. We really enjoyed the main pool at OKW, but the pool at SSR looks nice too. We just didn't take the time to swim at SSR. The gift shop and counter service at OKW are much more functional, have a better layout, and had delicious and unique offerings. I don't think that you can go wrong either way, but if I couldn't get a room near the hospitality house, I would probably choose SSR.

I haven't stayed at OKW myself, but I was very happy at my Saratoga Springs stay. We were in the Congress Park building with a water view and thought that it was absolutely lovely.

Thanks for the recommendations awesome I just can't see us enjoying being wayyyyy out at OKW so unless I can convince my husband to do a split-stay we will more than likely be at SSR. I think if we had a car at OKW we might consider it even if it meant we were out on the other side of the resort. : eek

Never stayed at Old Key West before, but we always enjoyed Saratoga Springs. We had have had one bedroom villas and studios in Congress Park and had wonderful views of DTD. Now with all the construction I can't say how beautiful the view would be of DTD, but the resort is nice. We also do have a car every time also so we never have to worry about the buses which I hear can be time consuming at times.

Why do you say wayyyyyy out at OKW? It's on the same road as SSR.

I've stayed at OKW, hubby has stayed at both OKW and SSR. He very much liked them both, and I can vouch for OKW.

I thought OKW was very nice as well. Didn't have any problems when I stayed there is 2011.
