DVC points transfer help...

I know, I know, I've only just got back but of course I'm always thinking forward to the next trip, or in this case, the trip after that one

I'm after some help from other DVC people who know more than me. I've rented points before but that was when I wasn't a member, now I'm looking towards next year. We were with friends last night who said they would like to come next year! Yay! So the problem is, we have used a lot of next years points for our trip this year so we would need to rent some points for the trip.

What we would like to do is rent at a different home resort and have the points transferred to us so that I could control the booking process, would that be possible? Also, we would want a hard to get standard view boardwalk so I wanted to know if I could rent the points and have them transferred before I need them, as long as they would be valid for the dates I needed to book for? I hope that all makes sense?

I wish I had a great answer for you Robyn. I know that points can be transferred, I'm just not sure how all that works. Hopefully someone else will be more helpful. You could also try calling member services.

We have 199 2014 points that can be transferred into your Disney Vacation Club membership. They are 199 Saratoga Springs points. They can be used between now and 2/1/15 or they can be banked by 9/30/2014. If banked the points will need to be used between 2/1/15 and 2/1/16. If you are interested you must take all 199 points. The price for these points is $15 per point or $2985. If you would like these points please call us at 800-550-6493.

We have 480 2014 points that can be transferred into your Disney Vacation Club membership. They are 480 Bay Lake Tower points. They can be used between now and 2/1/15 or they can be banked by 9/30/2014. If banked the points will need to be used between 2/1/15 and 2/1/16. If you are interested you must take all 480 points. The price for these points is $15 per point or $7200. If you would like these points please call us at 800-550-6493.

We have 400 2014 points that can be transferred into your Disney Vacation Club membership. They are 400 Boardwalk Villas points. They can be used between now and 3/1/15 or they can be banked by 10/31/2014. If banked the points will need to be used between 3/1/15 and 3/1/16. If you are interested you must take all 400 points. We have 160 2015 points that can be transferred into your Disney Vacation Club membership. They are 160 Animal Kingdom points. Here is what I know. A DVC member can transfer points in or out from/to another member one time per year. Those points retain their use year. If they have already been banked or borrowed, I don't think they can be transferred at all. A reservation cannot be made from contracts with different use years. It would have to be split up into different reservations. I hope this helps

Thanks so much for all the help everyone! I'm hoping that I can rent from someone in the UK, it avoids all overseas transaction fees etc. I didn't think we could rent this far in advance, never thought about borrowing now and then banking into next year. Will need to be booking at about mid December.
