With only twenty-two days until Santa begins his around-the-world flight, the Santa Tracker is gearing up. There's plenty a lot more than simple radar tracking for the flight this year. The NORAD system has forged plenty of relationships. Google Maps Mobile, Flickr, YouTube, and even Twitter can be following the NORAD Santa Tracker.

2010 Santa Tracker for NORAD

The 2010 Santa Tracker service is once again from the North American Aerospace Defense Command. North American Aerospace Defense Command became known as the agency to track Santa Claus. This started in 1955. There was a misprinted phone number printed by a Sears' department store. The phone number was supposed to allow children to "talk to Santa" on Christmas Eve. Kids instead got sent to the Continental Air Defense office, who gave them the "current location" of Santa.

Glad to see they are still going to do it this year. We had originally heard NORAD was not going to do this because of budget cuts. We've been watching this for years.
