Sorry to disappoint all you D&B bag fans

But the new Haunted Mansion bag was released today and sold out todaywilts no restock. If anyone wants one the CM did say it may be purchased on line in a couple of weeks but she wasn't 100% so just keep looking online for it. I didn't even get to see it (I was curious about the hype) so cannot comment on it.

I don't know why they're playing games with this bag. It's like they get 3 in stock per year then that's it. Really dumb.

If I am meant to have one, one will be there when I arrive in the store.

Apparently last year they had 14 bags and they sold out in 10 mins, this year they had a lot more and the CM we talked to said the last one sold at around 7.30 pm. She said there was a queue around the building when they first opened. As much as I love the Haunted Mansion I don't get mega bucks for a plastic handbag! Actually I did pay $50 for a plastic bag but that is a whole different story for when I get home, and I didn't begrudge a single cent. wink

That's the average price for that size/shape of Disney Dooney. When your wife said she wanted one, did you not look up how much it would cost?

Well yes, the Haunted Mansion Dooney (and many others) are PVC coated cotton canvas so technically they are plastic. However, they are extremely well made so it's not like a "plastic" purse that you would buy at Target that is going to fall apart after one season. These bags last and last and last, and if you keep it clean they look the same after 3 years of use as they did the day you bought them.

In my opinion, if you're going to spend $250 on a purse (and I have been known to do so) shouldn't it be for one that you're going to get years and years of use out of?

Yes Kristen,I was only joking. laugh I know the price of them as we've seen them many times when we go our shopping at Disney...She will pick one out and I have no problem with buying her it,she has to put up with my obsession of guitars..LOL.

Agreed Kristen if it is well made and lasts and if it is adored and wanted and used then the money is immaterial. Saw some D&B at the mall today and they did look great.

Honestly, I was really put off by the PVC coating at first. And it was the most expensive bag I had ever bought, but as someone who goes through "cheap" purses like crazy I'm pretty happy with how my Disney Dooney has stood the test of time. The only other bag that has even come close for me to how the Dooney holds up is a leather Coach that Becks gave me last year in June and i have used the heck out of it.

The one thing that I'll say about the PVC coated bags is that you do have to clean them up every couple of months or some discoloration can occur on the ones that have the white backgrounds.

Oh! And the Disney Harveys bags, those are awesome too!
