Splash Mountain's "Big Drop"

Okay we chickend out of going on Splash Mountain when we went to Disney this past May. Is the final drop TRULY as horrific as it looks? Also, my children are 9 & 6. Do you think they will be to handle that drop or too young? I don't know if I can handle it......LOL!

Where do you sit so you don't get completely drenched?

Getting Drenched is usually the reason I ride this ride Smile

It's not that bad, and I think you all can handle it. You are going to get wet though, maybe even soaked. It's not the drop that gets you either, they have water squirters set up to make sure everyone gets wet. I love the story of this ride, I adore Song of the South, but I really hate getting all wet and then having to walk around the park. My suggestion, wear a rain poncho!

The drop isn't so bad, I'm really tall and the overhanging brambles are what scares me. As for getting wet, it mainly has to do with weight placement.

I'm usually the biggest person on and wherever I sit gets wet. But I've never gotten Kali RR wet on Splash, if it's warm I dry up in an hour or less. yay

the scariest seat is at the very front..and that's where you get the most wet!

the drop is a bit arghhhhh but its worth it!! its the best feeling when you're at the bottom , its like a sense of achievement!! Smile

and then you get to hear zip a dee do dah!xx

You will get soaked in the front. The middle and back arent to bad. Just depends on who is in the car. And the drop isnt as bad as it looks. Its much taller biggrin

I personally don't feel that the drop is that bad but I do have a good friend who would argue with me on that. As for the getting wet I think it is pretty unavoidable to stay completely dry but just don't sit in the front and you should be fine (the middle is the best!)

Okay , I will agree with everyone on the fact that the drop is really not that bad, but we have sat in evey position on this ride and it is just luck of the draw on wether or not you get wet. We sat in the front and got soaked once and we have sat there once and were perfectly dry after the ride. You do not always get wet on this ride, but that is not guaranteed!
