Keep hearing how amazingly yummy this is. Is it offered only in Adventureland? Will definately have to get this on our next trip!

You can get them at the poly too.
Wishin' I was at WDW!
But if you want the dole whip float you have to get it in Adventureland (and I would highly recommend it!) Although I wouldn't pass up a regular dole whip at the poly either
It's at Aloha Isle in Adventureland, and in Captain Cook's at the Poly. I actually prefer going to get it at Captain Cook's, just because we've never really been stuck in line to get one.
We get it at the Poly all the time, Mike likes the self serve, but 4th of July we had to wait in a line almost out the door to get Dole Whip. Only time we've ever had to wait for it! I like the floats too, but I like the self serve vanilla pineapple twist at Captain Cooks.. It's cheap too, way under $10 for the 2 of us at the Poly. A little more for the float at MK. Most of the time that's the only thing we buy so it's a treat!

So I've read some on this Dole Whip I want more info. Is it like pineapple custard? Or pineapple sherbet? What is in the float?

Here is a post from the Disney Food Blog on the dole whip

Can we have a serious discussion about the Dole Whip?
I swear the first time I got a Dole Whip in my adult years--I might have had one as a kid but I don't remember--you could get them with sprinkles. Then suddenly..no sprinkles and everyone who has ever eaten one has never had one with sprinkles. A few years ago I found a photo online of a dole whip WITH sprinkles so therefore I know I'm not crazy.
Has anyone ever had one with sprinkles??
please don't hate m,e but I am going to egt the orange one, I am not a big pineapple fan but the love of this thing I know I have to do the red haired stepchild version

Ok i'll admit, I am a Dole Whip virgin. I didn't even knew they existed until i joined this forum. You have inspired me to go to MK next weekend just to get a Dole Whip. They had better be as good as advertised.
We've stayed at:
Grand Floridian, Wilderness Lodge, Beach/Yacht Club, Old Key West Resort, Port Orleans (Riverside & French Quarter), Coronado Springs, Boardwalk Inn, Animal Kingdom Lodge, Caribbean Beach, Pop Century, All Star (Music & Sports).

They're pretty yummy! And refreshing, and not all that "bad" for you. So a win win. (And I don't remember having one before very, very recently, so you virgins and newbies are totally not alone.)
When I was in college we had a self serve dole whip machine in the cafeteria that had orange, pineapple and raspberry! I haven't seen raspberry anywhere down here, but there were a few ice cream shops at home that had it. As far as I know Disney only has pineapple and orange in MK and pineapple and vanilla at the Poly. I hadn't thought about it since college until we moved down here and I found it MK then read that they also have it at the poly. It's so refreshing, I like it better than ice cream.

I think It's orange soft serve with pineapple juice which I think would make the juice AWESOME

This sounds better than pineapple to me too. Maybe I'll have the orange soft serve in a cola

Ok, I had my first Dole Whip today and it was as good as advertised. Wife had the orange and vanilla mix which tasted like a creamscile. The only downside was in the heat they melted pretty fast. I ended up getting a brain-freeze.

I've never had one either!
If you aren't staying at any resorts can you still go to Poly? If so, how do you get there? Is it a long walk? I'd like to check it out on Saturday.

You absolutely can! Just take the resort monorail around from either the Ticket and Transportation Center, or from Magic Kingdom. You can find them in Captain Cooks, but they're also available at Aloha Isle in Adventureland within MK. Good luck! And stop back by and let us know what you thought

Isn't there a boat that goes from the Magic Kingdom to the Poly too?
