Sadly I have returned from my Honeymoon at the World
I'm suffering some Disney blues at the moment so I'm hoping that doing my very first trip report will help ease the pain
My new husband Erik and I drove to Disney World from Ontario Canada. Nothing overly interesting happened on the drive so I'll skip that part and get right to the magic that is Disney! We were there from November 9-16.
Day 1
We arrived in Florida the night before so we stayed at the Ramada Inn. After checking out we headed for the Wide World of Sports for package pickup. We ran our first ever 5K for the Wine and Dine half marathon weekend. It was cool to walk around the expo and check out all the product. I bought a Jeff Galloway book about half marathons and he was even there to sign it!
After we were done, we headed to the resort to check in. We stayed at Port Orleans Riverside. It was our first time there and it was great! We usually stay at Value so it was a nice change. Our room wasn't quite ready so we headed to Publix to pick up some snacks. One of my favourite parts about going to the US are the grocery stores! There are just too many different (and yummy!) food items from what we have here. If I ever lived there I think I'd gain some serious weight
By the time we were done checking out the goods our room was ready so we headed back. the room was really nice. We stayed in the Alligator Bayou section. We were super close to the pool and pretty close to the bus stop as well. The food court was a bit more of a walk but walking is definatly a big part of the Disney experience. Once we got settled in the room we took a nap and then had pizza delivered. It was really tasty! We didn't bother going to any parks on the first day. We opted for an early night to get ready to be up really early the next morning for our race.

It was a bit cool but once the sun came up it was nice. The 5K was really fun. We finished with a time of 38 minutes. We were pretty proud of ourselves
After the race we hung around for a bit waiting for the park to open. Once it did we headed for the safari. I like the change they did and it was nice to see zebras. After that we did Everest, Primeval Whirl and Dinosaur. We walked around for a bit and then headed to our lunch ADR at Rainforest Cafe. I had the turkey wrap while Erik had some kind of pasta. We finished it off with cheesecake that was delicious.

I always just assumed that Boardwalk was just another name for Downtown Disney. It was really nice there and nowhere near crowded like the parks which was really nice. We had pizza from the Pizza Window for lunch and an Oreo Bon Bon cupcake from the Boardwalk bakery. Both were excellent. We walked around but didn't go too far into the resorts. Next time we might rent some bikes to tour around on.
( We spent the morning taking pictures around the resort before heading Magic Kingdom. Once we got there we bought the bride and groom ear hats. We waited until the last day thinking they might be uncomfortable. However they were nice and we regretted not getting them earlier in trip. We didn't do any rides, just wandered aimlessly around getting our last bit of Disney before the drive home.
