Standard room for 2 weeks or Concierge Suite for 1 week?

I saw this asked on a facebook page I follow last week and wanted to find out what you guys thought.

Would you rather spend 2 weeks in a standard room or 1 week in a concierge suite? I have a feeling I know which way this is going to go, but let's see how it plays out!

I really would much rather do the 2 week version To me concierge may be worth 1 DAY 2 at the most but not worth a whole week. mickey

2 weeks! For us there's just not much benefit to a concierge suite.

I did not even have to think about that one. Two weeks for me too!

I think it would have to be closer in time before I'd consider it. I might trade 14 days of normal for 13 days of concierge, but definitely not 2 weeks for 1. What kind of ratio would make it worthwhile for you guys?

I may have to disagree with everyone else on this one. Here's the thing: I have NEVER stayed at anything near that level of nice. I would love to do it once, and the place to do it is Disney.

YEs two weeks would be awesome, but I think just ONCE, I would rather do one week living it up!

I think this is a great point. If we're going to be having a magic-type-situation, why not get something we wouldn't ever do on our own. Kind of like how I let my family and friends get me things for the holidays that I don't think are worth the money to buy myself. The only thing that makes me hesitant is that I've never really seen any feature of concierge that blows me away.

2 weeks, totally! When there's so much to do in Orlando I find the hotels are just a base anyway, so I don't care how fancy they are. The value resorts are all I need.

Brad and Caitie - excellent points. But I'm with Peg. I might do the 2 for 1 swap on a cruise, or in the Caribbean, or somewhere that I would actually be in the room. But at Disney, we're so much about all the stuff to do that we're rarely in the room. Now if you threw in upgraded dining on top of the club level - say 1 week of club level + signature dining vs. 2 wks of standard + quick service, then we might talk...

On the other hand, it's amazing what you get at the club level. And then you go into the regular area of the hotel, and people are paying for what you just had for free. (I know you pay more. But still...it changes the way you think. Smile)

2 weeks, I'd never do 2 weeks even in a standard, 1 is the longest I can afford. Concierge just doesn't seem worth it to me, why pay extra for some free food that you have to be in the hotel to use? I'm not there enough to make it worth it, even for the nicer level of service.

If I'm going to pay more for service, it's going to be on a cruise or at a spa resort where I'm not away from my room 95% of the trip.

Oh! You just had to throw those options in there! I would take two weeks in a heartbeat but if there options were part of the deal I have no clue what I'd do!

Lizzy hits me where it hurts. Deciding between 2 weeks with QS and 1 week with signature would be really hard for me. If it was regular TS vs signature then no question, but 2 weeks with all QS probably just wouldn't work for me.

laugh I love that we're expanding the "features" of the hypothetical trip! awesome Hmm... two weeks with quick service or one week with club level and signature dining... That is a tough one!

Though I see Caitie's point, I think I might have to take two weeks, too.

Now, how about one week in the Cinderella castle suite vs. two weeks at Pop Century!!!???

Pop. As long as it involves staying anywhere that you can describe as better than "disgusting" I will always take 2 weeks over 1. I know I've already said it, but at Disney, and everywhere I go on holiday to be honest, a hotel is always just a base to me so I would always choose a longer holiday with basic accommodation.

I am curious to see what it's like inside the Cinderella Suite though Smile

I'm going to have to stay in the castle! I'd also pick 1 week with Signature over 2 weeks with QS, but concierge isn't getting me to give up my 2nd week yet.

Now this isn't fair..I'd have to change my answer on this one. 1 week..dream come true.
