There have been a few trickles of rumors coming out of the Disney Company that suggest a new park experience could be coming to Walt Disney World revolving around Star Wars.
Back in January I found this post on Disney Gossip that suggested a boutique park experience could be in the works. They suggested that its "backstory would be that guests have been selected for Jedi-Training. You would build and learn to use a light saber, pilot a fighter, learn jedi-tricks, and explore the 'dark forest' where you use your skills to confront the dark side. There would be a graduation ceremony and then a chance to explore the Jedi Academy (think of an elaborate role playing area with individual and group games where you can compete and score points)."
Over on Stitch Kingdom last week, a patent for a new Disney Live Action Role Play engine was filed. Also last week, Tom Staggs announced Disney Springs, he mentioned to the assembled press that they should expect something to be released soon regarding the Star Wars franchise, but that he wasn't ready to say anything yet.
Very interesting indeed.
My family would be seriously over the moon if Disney created a boutique gate with a limited number of guests per day (think Sea World's Discovery Cove) revolving around Star Wars. What do you think? Have you heard any rumors along this line? Do you think Tom Skaggs will have something new to announce at the Star Wars Weekend Opening?
