Star Wars Boutique Park? Just Rumor

There have been a few trickles of rumors coming out of the Disney Company that suggest a new park experience could be coming to Walt Disney World revolving around Star Wars.

Back in January I found this post on Disney Gossip that suggested a boutique park experience could be in the works. They suggested that its "backstory would be that guests have been selected for Jedi-Training. You would build and learn to use a light saber, pilot a fighter, learn jedi-tricks, and explore the 'dark forest' where you use your skills to confront the dark side. There would be a graduation ceremony and then a chance to explore the Jedi Academy (think of an elaborate role playing area with individual and group games where you can compete and score points)."

Over on Stitch Kingdom last week, a patent for a new Disney Live Action Role Play engine was filed. Also last week, Tom Staggs announced Disney Springs, he mentioned to the assembled press that they should expect something to be released soon regarding the Star Wars franchise, but that he wasn't ready to say anything yet.

Very interesting indeed.

My family would be seriously over the moon if Disney created a boutique gate with a limited number of guests per day (think Sea World's Discovery Cove) revolving around Star Wars. What do you think? Have you heard any rumors along this line? Do you think Tom Skaggs will have something new to announce at the Star Wars Weekend Opening?

I think such a thing would be amazing! I've never really been a huge Star Wars fan but the "boutique"/immersive RPG experience sounds really interesting, and would encourage me to actually get into the franchise Wink

I've been a Star Wars geek since I saw the original movie (which I will never call "A New Hope," and btw Han shot first) 12 times over the summer of 1977. (I did say "geek.")

But would I do a fan experience like the one you describe? It would depend on how long I was at WDW. If I had enough time to do my "normal" touring in addition to this experience, I would love to tack something like this onto the trip.

I'm a HUGE Star Wars fan(geek), so this could be a nice little spin in the Star Wars Universe. Just as long as it's not just for kids. Like crazycatperson, Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope, will always and forever be Star Wars !!!!!!

Obiwan Kenobi your my only hope......Love the original Star Wars. I didn't see Star Wars that many times like CrazyCatPerson but I was close. I would give the boutique Star Wars park a try.
