Take note that before Starbucks, the only type of coffee that you can find in all of WDW (with the exception of a few places) is the Nescafe INSTANT coffee!

Now think about that for a second. Even if you don't like coffee, or don't drink coffee, think of the rest of us who do and had to suffer through something like that. I don't know of anyone who liked that type of coffee, and even the cast members that I know of stay away from them!

I would have been happy even if they simply grind some whole beans that they get from the local supermarket. So I'm sure you can understand why many people, even those who are not fans of Starbucks, are elated when we now have a choice of having better coffee than what they were servicing us before.

I drink Starbucks coffee maybe once every 2 to 3 weeks. I much prefer their espresso-based coffees since the deep, dark roasting that they tend to do is suited very well for such drinks that require robust flavors. But still, I'm quite happy to see Starbucks in WDW, and it is the first place we went to in the morning when I got to MK or Epcot last Dec.

And oh, the service was quick and prompt. Good crowd control. The people in charge of running the Dole whip stand in Adventureland should learn from them!

My DH is not a coffee drinker so he has his hot chocolate in the room before he leaves, so that leaves me and I brew a couple cups before leaving. So when we went to the bakery, I almost always order ice tea which I can pick up almost anywhere. My question is how has the food selections changed because we tend to do a breakfast stop there first day we are there.

They make some hot breakfast sandwiches and there are several selections of pastries and cakes and such.

Here is one of the reviews from the DFB

We found it rather nice and very quick service (for Disney World).

I see no problems. I've been a SB Gold Card holder since 09. I am not a "coffee" drinker but I love my mixed coffee drinks. Macchiatos, Fraps, lattes, mochas and such. Since I can't get my beloved Mt Dew in the parks (BOOOOO) I am over the moon thrilled to have SB make an appearance!

Bring on the triple shots of espresso baby!

I don't mind others who enjoy their Starbucks coffee. I do drink coffee but not theirs because it's too strong for me, and it's very expensive. I brew a cup or two in my room and then I hit the heat outside I switch to iced tea or if at AK Chia Tea. I don't like my coffee messed with, so no flavors or sweeteners or creamers. I enjoyed the Main Street Bakery because it was cute and had pastries that seemed more unique to them, not mass produced by a company.
I also understand Disney's need to bring in corporate sponsors, so I will just find what I like and move on. It's just one of the memories that we will have that the newer crowd will never know.
