Strategic Hotel Choices

I was reading an article earlier today that suggested Disney travelers should be extra strategic with their hotel choices at the moment. The author found that travel times to and from the Parks were longer than desired due to diminished capacity, and so they were suggesting that guests should make their Park reservations first, and then choose their hotel. This would give guests the opportunity to prioritize travel time to and from the Parks they will be attending.

Frankly, I've always been pretty strategic with my resort choices and tend to stay in different areas depending on the Parks I want to be at most. This isn't a new strategy for me really. Do you do te same thing? Will it make a difference for you in the future?

I am an annual passholder. If I don't have a hotel reservation, I can only book three park reservations. I need the reservation to make park reservations for my entire stay.

The suggestion doesn't help anyone planning on booking a hotel and ticket package. You can't make park reservations without a ticket.

Makes me question the author's understanding of the park reservation system.

That makes a lot of sense JoAnn. The article was from a general news outlet not a Disney focused site, I bet the author had only done cursory research.

I get the suggestion that they were trying to make though. I have rarely gone to all the Parks in a single trip and I don't really Park hop so I often try for a resort near the Parks that I want to go to on a specific trip. I'm not even trying for Park reservations next week, it's going to be a pool time and Disney Springs jaunt. Though I must admit a "Skyliner Crawl" May be happening.
