wow really I didn't even realize that people actually did that..wow again.

I understand that the Haunted Mansion is a particular favorite for this unwelcome activity.

Gross.......

That's weird..I saw a couple empty what looked like a small urn into the Sassagoula river in 2010..It was very early in the morning around 6.15 am..I never thought anything about it until now... confused

Eeeek....even if you do manage to get the ashes scattered in the Haunted Mansion, they are going to end up in some poor caretakers vacuum and dumped in the trash. Not entirely an elegant ending!

Hmmm..not that I would EVER violate the sacred rules of WDW, BUT if I were in the stupid mentality state of mind, wouldn't you want your loved one's ashes in a happy place? Haunted Mansion, while a fun ride, isn't my picture of a peaceful resting place.....Just sayin.... yuck

mickey My children have very specific instructions for my post mortem party - but they do not include the Haunted Mansion. I would hate to be sucked up in the janitors vacuum!

In theory, I would very much like for my ashes to find their way to WDW since I spend the majority of my time at home plotting how to spend more of my time within the confines of the Disney empire. I agree that I would not choose the Haunted Mansion though!! I like the ride and I know there's room for one more and all, but it just wouldn't be my cup of tea!! laugh The only way this is remotely practical is if you choose a secluded outdoor venue. You can't be dumping dead people on the floor of a building!

Alicemouse pick out a really nice urn that would look like it belonged in the cemetery at HM and then have someone sneak it in.

Teehee...Thanks, gals. Hopefully I didn't offend anyone. We're kind of irreverent about the subject of death in our house. Heck, we're irreverent about most things. We've even got a rule that "funny trumps mean." You can say whatever you want to the other person no matter how "mean" it is, but it MUST be hilarious.

Back on the original topic, I read a book one time--it was either Cast Member Confidential or The Dark Side of Disney--that talked about people sneaking into the parks and how if you're caught, it's an automatic lifetime ban! eek I think I'd rather be a Haunted Mansion resident than be banned from the parks!!

I would be perfectly happy if hubby would just take a spoonful of my ashes and discreetly deposit them in a thicket of bushes somewhere in the Magic Kingdom.

But let me warn everyone right now, if it's at all possible my ghost will be haunting the Haunted Mansion.

My dads already told me I have to take his urn down Splash mountain one last time...can you imagine the picture?? haha!

A few trips back there was a couple in the hot tub at AKL with glasses in hand, I think it was a wine and a whiskey, they looked a little worse for wear too and the drink was sloshing everywhere, CMs were not happy about it and sent them back inside the hotel.

Mike wants me to put his ashes in my pocket and cut a hole in the pocket and just do walk around and do a Disney day. The problem is I don't think I will be able to go anywhere near Disney without him if anything ever happened to him. sad It's our place and filled with years and years of memories.
I would not think of the Haunted Mansion anyway, MK is his least fave park. For Mike it would be EPCOT either American Gardens Theater, Off Kilter area or behind England near British Revolution. So many years of concerts...so much good music! I

Yeah you would, look at Joe & Jan, how many years they went together, and he went back.

I want my ashes to be mixed with some cement & made into a little Tiki and dropped into the middle of Seven Seas Lagoon between the Poly and the MK. That way I can always see the Poly & Wishes, and every time someone I know or love passes over me on a boat they can say "Aloha!".
