Thoughts on the fantasyland expansion?

From an adults-visiting-without-kids perspective, what are your thoughts on the fantasyland expansion? It looks like they're changing it up a bit as well -- less princess stuff and more that all can enjoy. Things have changed so much that it's hard to keep a handle on everything. Here's an

. Wanted to know what "grown-ups" think about the whole thing.

I am not really sure what I think of it yet. I will have to see it completed first. We spend very little time if any in Fantasy Land so it probably will not matter much to us one way or the other. I would love to give Be Our Guest a try but I am afraid it will be filled with kids. That we will have to save for our next family vacation.

I'm with Scrappy. I honestly don't know what to think yet. I usually assume things change for the worse though.

I like what Tom Staggs said about changing the vibe so that it wasn't the originally planned "all princesses all the time." But I agree with dsoup that things rarely change for the better these days. I suspect they may do some things that are targeted at little boys as well as little girls, but I'm not expecting much targeted at me.

How does Disneyland compare to WDW on the kiddo crowd? Does it have more little ones because of the locals?

All of DLR is MUCH more compact so yes it does get very congested

I tend to think the opposite. While we complain about change, there have been quite a few good changes in WDW over the past 10 years. Then again, I will be sorry to see toon town go.

So informal poll: Who's optimistic and who's pessimistic?

I vote for pessimism (as usual).

Optimistic. Toontown is cute, but as an adult I feel like I did it once and don't need to ever go again. I'm hoping for more revisibility in that area.

I started to answer this once and then I got distracted and I just realized I never posted what I wanted to..

Anywway..I am not sure how I feel about it yet. The plans/videos etc. all look amazing..and since I will probably be traveling with a child for the next..oh 18 years or so I am all for the expansion to make it more "boy friendly".

However, if it was still just me and Dave..I would be certain of two things..1.the expansion wouldn't really matter too much to me because Fanstasyland isn't something that we must hit. For us it's more of "do very late at night to avoid mass chaos" type of thing. And 2..I would get more sleep.
Alas, I think I'll be spending lots of time in Fantasyland (with my stroller) and I probably won't sleep well again until I'm dead.
