Toontown - will you miss it?

This was cute but I'm not in mourning over it's loss. Losing "Mr. Toad's Wild Ride" and "20,000 Leagues Under the Sea was more devestating for me. Toontown is great for toddlers but now with my son being 9, it didn't hold much interest for him. My son was 3 when we first took him to Disney and he LOVED Donald Duck's boat. My daughter is 6 and she LOVED Minnie's house and Goofy's Barnstomer roller coaster ride. What are your thoughts?

one of the ONLY things I remember from my trip when I was 4 are Minnie and Mickey's houses. I remember thinking that was really where they lived! Minnie had a not saying she was sorry she missed us but getting ready for her show.. haha! I wont miss it myself, but it would have been nice when I have kids for them to get to experience it. But I'm sure the new fantasyland will be even better!!!

I have never travelled to Disney World with children. Hubby and I (or hubby, our friends, and I) have walked through ToonTown to the train station. We looked around, but that's about it, since there was nothing there that really grabbed our attention. So no, I'm not going to miss it.

Like you said Poppet, there are other thing I will alway miss more, "20,000 Leagues Under the Sea " being the biggest, but yes it was a very cute area, it is ashame it had to go to fit the Fantasy Land Expansion, but I'm sure they will more then make the new section worthwild.

I've never been a big fan of WDW'snToontown, so no, I don't think I'll miss it there at all. Now if they got rid of it at Disneyland, yes, I would be upset.

Wait.... something happened to Toontown? I was just there?

No... sorry... I'm just kidding. I saw the major construction that was going on and they had the steel bars up in the pattern for the Big Top thing... the circus tent. It was literally construction right up to the Tea Cups. Couldn't walk behind them at all. Made kind of a mess to be honest.

I have to admit that I will miss it a little. Actually I really liked Toontown. We almost always made our way back there so I could go through Mickey and Minnie's houses. But, Walt wanted it to always change. I am looking very forward to the new Fantasy Land. Mostly I can not wait to try the Be Our Guest restaurant.

I miss it, too. I really loved Mickey's and Minnie's houses. We are consoled by the fact that Barnstormer will be re-themed with the Fantasyland Expansion. DD7 can't WAIT for that.

We did Mickey's house too many times when the kiddos were little. Barnstormer was a fave though, and being squirted by the Miss Daisy, may miss that. Lots of memories from when the kids were little, not so much anymore. We'd walk through now and then, but I'm not sure I'll miss it. Looking forward to a change and glad the Barnstormer is making the move.

I wish I had known last year that Toontown was closing just so I could see it before it was gone.

I wish I had gotten to see it one more time too! sad When we went last year, we were surprised to see it closed. To be honest though, the main thing I will miss is those huge pink cupcakes they sold at Minnies! Looking forward to what we see at the new FantasyLand this year though.

I'll miss it only because my son didn't really get to experience it.
