So I've been to most everyplace in "the World," but I have yet to make it here. Has anyone been? Is it worth staying at Bay Lake Towers to check it out? Does it appeal to you guys who haven't been?

I've been!!
I adore Top of the World, it's my favorite WDW lounge of all. I would end every night there if I could. There's a wonderful rat pack sort of vibe to it and the view of the fireworks is magnificent. When you add in good friends it's all the better. The chocolate cake is amazing and one slice is big enough for four to people. I've been able to get up there with friends staying at BLT and really wish it was open to all DVC Members all year.
I haven't been, and I totally want to go. So yep, I'd say I'm intrigued. I think I mostly want to go because that's what the California Grill was called in its prior lifetime.
Yes and I'm hoping to get up there in November when we are down with Co Workers. They are staying in Bay Lake while we are in the Poly.
I wish I could go up there! ...but unfortunately, unlike California Grill, I don't know of any back entrances I can go in just to watch fireworks.

I've been there several times, including before they were officially opened during the DVC members preview of BLT.
It is a very nice place, and the view is spectacular. However, as nice as it is, it isn't worth staying at BLT for. In fact, I actually don't have a lot of desire to stay at BLT other than the convenience to MK. The studios are rather small and cramped, and until recently, the bathroom doors didn't offer a lot of privacy (they are changing that, or are already doing it due to members' complaints).
