I've got a return trip planned to the world that instead of reserving my FP+'s yesterday, I am unfortunately going to have to cancel. When I booked my trip, I purchased trip insurance with the Disney package. We always fly, and I have also purchased my airline tickets, although I did so independently of my Disney package, instead dealing directly with the airline and purchasing non-refundable first class tickets. From all I can determine, I am likely to have to eat the cost of those tickets unless I can travel on rescheduled flights within a year of the original date of purchase, which was February 2015.
On to my question. Does anyone have experience with the Disney trip insurance, particularly if it would cover my airline ticket costs, or if not, are there any tricks I'm missing when dealing with the airline on how to recover at least part of the costs?
