This trip couldn't come at a better time!

sad Well WDW friends I got bad news yesterday that I've been laid off from my job. I've worked for the company for over 17 years, and I'm shocked and saddened by this turn of events. I've spent the past two days trying to figure out what's next. I'm a firm believer that when one door closes another one opens, its just hard to make myself see that right now. The good news is we leave for the most magical place on Earth this coming weekend. And I ask you, is there anything better for lifting your spirits and clearing your head then 5 days at WDW?

Sorry to hear about your job. Have a great time at WDW and worry about next steps after you get back.

Kris, so sorry to hear of your unfortunate bad luck job wise. I do admire your outlook about when one door closes another one opens and I am sure you will find an even better job. And as to your question the only thing better than 5 days at WDW is 7 days at WDW so cheer up and things will get better, you just watch.

I am really sorry to hear about your job but I do agree with you, another door will open for you. I hope you have a truly magical vacation to take your mind of it for awhile.

Thanks everyone for the kind words. I'm hopeful something even better will come along, but for now I'm going to focus on packing for Disney and the fun my DH and I are going to have. Heck maybe I can pick up a magic wand on our detour to WWofHP and do a spell to help me find an even better job. wink

Kris - I'm so sorry for this turn. But wow, I admire your attitude. I'm confident that the magical WDW trip you have planned - and that auto train ride! - will be just the thing to clear your head and give you direction. I've had a really tough week myself...well, we got the chance to go to Epcot last night for a cooking demo, and hang out for a bit, and I couldn't believe how the sadness lifted. It really is my happy place. And I'm thankful it can be that for you, too. Hugs. Can't wait to hear what bigger and better comes along!

Oh Kris I am *so* sorry to hear about your job. I can't imagine a better break for you right now than to head to the most magical place on earth. I'm sure that there will be a great new opportunity waiting for you to pursue when you get back. Clear your head with a Lapu Lapu on the shores of the seven seas lagoon and enjoy yourself until then!

So sorry to hear about your job... But so glad you are still able to go to Disney... Hey maybe you could just stay down there and get a job at Disney Smile
