Trip Update...

Well, I guess it's a pretty sad trip update, but an update nonetheless:

Cancelled.

I'd say about 95-99% chance. We need to save up for our wedding, I need to pay for my first semester of grad school, and financials don't really line up as much as we'd love them to.

I'm going to wait until about a 50 day mark and really look at things again once things come a bit closer, but chances are, the trip is cancelled.

Now I think it'd be right for me to inform you guys of this, most importantly because you've always been there for me. And I know how difficult it can be to get reservations at Le Cellier and Be Our Guest, and I have a bunch (10-12) ADR's from June 13th to 19th, and I'll let you guys know which ones I'm cancelling so If you really need an ADR for hard-to-get places, I'll let you know so you can grab em.

Thanks for everything......I SHALL RETURN! =)

Sorry to hear that sad But it sounds like it was smart for you guys, financially wise. Hoping for another Disney trip sometime in your near future!

So sorry you have to cancel, but I understand the financial considerations. I work on a year-to-year government contract, and given the current financial climate in Washington I'm not planning anything until I KNOW I have a contract for next year. (Okay...yes, I'm planning, I'm just not booking.) But I know this isn't the end of WDW for you, you're just postponing your next trip. Like the rest of us, you WILL be back.

(Edited to correct a typo.)

Thanks everyone. Like I told my fiancee, I know this is the right decision, it's just extremely difficult and hard to bear. It'll just take me a bit of time to adjust and come to the realization that it's just not going to happen this year.

So yes lol....planning..why not? awesome Just not booking.

I'm so sorry you won't be able to go. But, maybe by the time you can, the mine train will be running, and there will be other new things to see and try. crossfingers

Aww, I'm sorry you may have to cancel: finances definitely stink, we're pinching pennies to afford our honeymoon for sure! But my fingers are definitely crossed for you--if not for this trip, then definitely for another one upcoming!!

Awww that stinks!!! That's a very smart decision, though. I know it's not easy to cancel, after the excitement and anticipation of going... just know you had very good reasons to not go right now. I've been in the same spot before, as I am sure a lot of us have. You guys will definitely get there when the time is right, and it is always worth the wait!!

I am so sorry that it just isn't in the cards for you this time. But just remember Mickey and friends will be there waiting for you and will welcome you home with open arms.

That's always so sad. I just had to cancel my December trip, so I can commiserate. It's okay though, Disney will be there just waiting for you!

We'll be back next year crossfingers (lol)

So anyway, I need to cancel my dining ADR's...so when I do I'll post up all the days and times and locations on a separate thread so everyone here can have first shots at them.

I know dinner for Be Our Guest in June and Le Cellier in June are both highly desirable.

Thanks again everyone for the support! awesome

I'm sure you have already thought about this, but what about WDW for your honeymoon? You can register for your honeymoon and your wedding guests contribute to the trip. That's what my wife and I did and our whole trip, plus some spending money was paid for. You choose the amounts that are available and the quantities. 15 $50 gifts towards your Dining Plan, or resort stay, park tickets. Specialty gifts like roses waiting in your resort for you. And the best part is, all of the money just goes into one pot, not towards the items they choose, so you can put it all towards the whole trip.

Just a thought
