Call me ignornat..but was Tron successful enough to warrant a sequel??

It made alot of money off merchandise so it said it was basicially going to pull a Cars and produce a sequel in hopes that it does good in the merchandise realm again

Here in the states it broke over even. Over seas it did much better. And merchandising was real good I guess... and with Tron coming out on DVD/BR... then yeah... it did good.

I know..I just put them both on my Netflix list! Now I wanted to see them because they are Disney of course..but now that they are making a sequel I better see it.
