'Twas the night before Disney...

...and all through the house.
everyone was excited,
to see Mickey Mouse!

cheesy I know. biggrin

This is going to be my very first trip report, so you'll have to excuse it...

first off, we planned this entire trip around my interview that was supposed to happen Tuesday. Well, when I called to schedule this interview, I was told my another person that I can't actually interview until I'm ready to start (she actually had no idea why I was told I should interview in March)...so, I can't interview until May because if I get hired, I'll be working pretty soon after. It sucks because I was really hoping on graduating college and knowing what I was going to do...oh well....

Anyways, we leave tomorrow at 5am for our 10hr drive to Orlando! I'm not taking my laptop, so I'll try to do some on my phone.

Since we're broke college kids, we'll be finding lots to do outside of the parks tomorrow night and Tuesday. but, Wednesday is MK!

so now I'm going to go to bed so I'm actually coherent tomorrow!

Well we got here around 2:15 (record time I think!) and we stopped at DTD to see one of my friends before he got off work. Then we checked in and headed to the outlets over by Universal to go to that Disney outlet store. Then we went to Publix to get a sub for dinner! If you've never eaten a Publix sub, you don't know what you're missing! Next we went to Fantasia mini golf. The line was really long and we had to wait a bit, but we had a blast. Or, I did at least...my boyfriend has been playing golf his whole life...it's kinda his thing. And I just beat him by 6 strokes! I bragged all the way down here about how I was gonna beat him and he kept saying there was no chance, so I'm glad I delivered in my promise!

Well we're gonna hit the sack early tonight because we didn't sleep at all last night and it's DTD day tomorrow!

Sorry I'm taking so long to get back to this. I tried using photobucket but it kept making google chrome crash. sad And now I'm doing this to procrastinate my Human Systems Physiology lab report. biggrin

You guys will have to excuse my photography. I don't have a camera that takes decent pictures, so I have to use my iPhone!

So here are just a few pictures from the first day:
The trip down:

GA

...and the best one! FL! We always stop at the visitors center right over the boarder to get free OJ!

I tried to take a picture of the inside of our rental car...it was weird. It was a Mazda 5 sport. From the outside it looked like a normal hatch-back car, but on the inside it had a 3rd row of seating instead of a trunk and sliding side doors. We called it our mini-mini-van. I couldn't really get a good picture of it that made sense, so I just tried. biggrin

Like I said before, we stopped at DTD as soon as we got there to see my friend, then checked into our hotel. We usually stay in a hotel off-site in Kissimee. Its actually really nice and we get it for $50 a night! Its about a mile from AKL, so its not a bad drive either.
After we checked-in, we went to the outlets by Universal to the Disney Outlet Store. All we found there that we really liked was a 2011 picture frame for $5. After that we went to Publix and got a sub. AMAZING! Then we went over to Fantasia Mini Golf where I proceeded to beat my boyfriend by 6 strokes. I actually got 4 hole-in-ones!

Day 2
This day we just tried to do everything we could for free at WDW. (well, mostly free)

We started off our day at DTD. We walked around the Marketplace for a bit, including my old job:

Then it was off to EoS for lunch!
I had the Full Montague and my boyfriend had The Original.

We also had one of those amazing deliciously chewy brownies!

After that we finished up walking around DTD and drove over to the Boardwalk. My boyfriend had never been before, so it was a cool thing for him to experience.
We started out by walking out onto the Boardwalk and heading right. We walked over to Epcot while I took pictures:

Once we got to Epcot, we went ahead and bought our tickets for the next day so we wouldn't have to wait in line all morning.
After that, we caught the boat all the way back over to HS, and walked from there back to the Boardwalk.

I've never done the whole walk before, but its really nice! And it was PERFECT weather!

Day 2...continued

After all our walking, we headed back to our hotel for a bit, then to Port Orleans Riverside for dinner at Boatwrights.

When we got there, our server was really amazing. He was super nice and suggestive. We went ahead and ordered, I got the pork chop with cheese grits & onion rings (bbq sauce on the side) and my boyfriend got the prime rib.

Both of them were amazing and my boyfriend got addicted to the cornbread. laugh laugh laugh

We were planning on getting dessert, but it seemed that our server forgot about us as soon as tables started showing up with more than just 2 guests. sad We were really bummed because we wanted dessert, but we had to wait about 30 mins before he came over to us to even ask, so by then I didn't want to bother. sad

*side note: I hate it when I go to nice restaurants and they automatically assume that just because I'm young, I'm not going to tip well. We saved up for months for this trip and were planning on spending quite a bit on this meal.

Day 2...last part...

My boyfriend had never been to the Epcot Flower & Garden Festival, so I was trying to explain it to him. I couldn't exactly tell him how awesome it was, so we decided to park at the TTC and take the monorail over to Epcot. I didn't really get any good photos of the flowers because we were so far above them, but I got a cool one of Spaceship Earth as the sun was setting.

After that, we rode back to the TTC and switched to the resort monorail. We had lots of time before the Water Parade started, so we rode it all the way around once before going back to the Polynesian. We ended up getting an entire car to ourselves after MK before the Contemporary.

Sorry, its a little dark. The monorail ended up shutting down just as we got into the Contemporary and all the lights & AC were out for about 3mins. I've never been in one when it shut down, so it was a cool thing for me.

After all of that drama, we headed to the Poly and got a nice seat in a chair on the beach right by the water for the Water Parade.

after the Parade, it was Dole Whip time and then Wishes. Then we headed back to our hotel to rest-up for the next day!

Day 3: Magic Kingdom! yay yay yay yay

We got up around 7 and headed out the door by 7:30. We got to the TTC and rode the resort monorail to MK because the express monorail wasn't running yet. (I don't know if this was part of the expected monorail maintenance or what?) Whatever the reason, I got this beauty:

We got to MK in plenty of time to get good seats before rope drop. I tried to get a picture of the map showing the new part of Fantasyland.

From rope drop we headed to Space Mountain for Fast Passes, then over to Splash Mountain, which was actually down. The rest of the day was prettymuch a blur of running between Tomorrowland and Frontierland. I had caught some type of stomach virus, so I was nauseous almost the entire day. Of course, this only happens to me on the ONE day we get in a park. sad sad sad sad So the only meal I ate that entire day was chicken nuggets from Cosmic Rays. I had to skip dinner at Columbia Harbour House. At least my boyfriend got to try it, and loved it!

A few notes about the day:
1. I was really disappointed by all the construction going on at MK. Walking down mainstreet was like walking through a construction zone...and it was partially blocking the castle. I understand that it makes sense to do all the renovations at once just to have them done, but I wish that wasn't during my vacation! (like thats possible!)

2. Its impossible to get a good picture on an iPhone without flash! (I guess that would be a good graduation present to myself!)

3. The new Fantasyland looks awesome! I just can't wait until all the walls are down!
4. I got tons of pictures of the castle, here's just a couple of ones I loved!

I have a ton more pictures, but the easiest way to see them is on my facebook: http://www.facebook.com/jesssssssssi you may have to add me, but I love new friends!
