Unleash The Villains

Unleash the Villains was a bust for me. A 25 minute trip turned into a 1 1/2 to 2 hour trip. The trip was going smoothly until I hit Buena Vista Drive where I waited like 40 minutes or so to get to the turn for Studios then waited another 20 minutes to get into the parking area then waited another 20 minutes to park in the Tv lot. Getting into the park wasn't bad but the crowd level inside was. The line for the characters was never ending around Echo Lake. I spent like 30 minutes there and left because it wasn't worth it. When I left there was still a ton of cars trying to park but were being sent to Epcot. Buena Vista Drive was still backed up and World Drive towards MK was starting to get backed up. I'm pretty sure the park reached capacity.

It was. Just for reference for those who may not know, Tv lot is the parking lot that is reserved for working cast members. Only time they don't park there is in May or when the park is expecting large crowds. I'm not really disappointed that I'm missing this event but just disappointed I spent so much time waiting and using gas that I should of turned around once I saw the long line on Buena Vista Drive. The traffic and parking just ruined my night.

We spent 90 mins in the car and gave up. Watching the fireworks from our balcony as we speak now though

Wow that sounds so disappointing. The limited time magic events are a great idea, but Hollywood Studios doesn't seem big enough to handle an event this big that 1000's of people will attend!

My hubby and I were contemplating going tonight. We discussed it up until a few days ago. We decided to skip it because we were afraid it would be just like you described and we have upcoming trips in October and November.

I hope the rest of your visit is awesome yay

I'll tell you the effect these villains had on our trip.
It's a story that involves missing the special dinner of our trip.
It's a story that involves the Earl of Sandwich at 11:00 pm.
It's a story that took 4 hours to unfold.
I hope to get it into my trip report today.

Yeah, to quote one of our favorite CM's FB post "I don't think Disney thought that one through properly....".

I saw that FB post before I realized what she was referring to, but it definitely sounds like she was right!

I was so excited then I sat in traffic and sat, and sat and sat, and sat then I parked. By the time I got there, I really didn't care but wanted to stay because I wasted so much gas and time. I just should of skipped it.

Definitely a bust for us too! We were at HS all afternoon and evening- when I saw people waiting in a two-hour line for the commemorative tshirts in the hot sun, I knew things would probably get crazy that night. We had dinner reservations at the Brown Derby, and towards the end of our meal, we saw one of the servers go outside to take a peek, then he came back in looking shell-shocked and said it looked worse than new year's eve out there. We managed to watch the fireworks, which were fun, but we didn't meet any villains because the lines were just out of control.
