A friend told me that Disney was planning to build a monorail to Animal Kingdom but stopped. They mentioned that Disney is reconsidering finishing it because of how much gas is getting. Does anyone know anything about this?

I hate to say it but I think the monorail is as expanded as far as it will ever be. The cost to expand is WAY too prohibitive. They (Disney) can buy a lot of fuel (for busses) for the money the expansion would cost.

I think what your friend may have meant was that there are sections for the monorail that were built but never used, and that is true, but they are extra ones for the existing monorail. There was never a spur started and stopped for the Animal Kingdom as far as I know.
