I knew the my magic+ was being tested through October 31. But at this point, it is mostly live since most of the bugs have been worked out and just about everyday that stays at a resort that offers magicbands, can get them.
Question - if I have an AP and book my rooms through DVC and not through reservations, then will I ever get to have a magic band? How does that work? Did I read here from one of you (Mr. Hub?) that they will link them? Would I get them in the mail? Just curious. My next on site stay is Jambo, DVC, and I think I read today that they will be rolled out to Jambo by then?
I just want to jump on the "band-wagon."
You can link your ap to the mydisneyexperience website but ap holders can't link the ticket to the magicband yet. They are currently working on getting it to where ap holders can link to a magicband along with cast members.
Thanks Mandy, so far you have done the best job of answering my question
I have called several different Disney world phone numbers and no one I spoke with has been able to answer questions about Annual or Seasonal pass holders that don't also have on property reservations and the My Magic+ system.
My husband and I are Seasonal pass holders but we don't ever stay on Disney property, which seems to be the only way for AP or SP holders to get the full my magic+ experience. As of right now, we can't get a magic band & we can't use the Fast Pass+ system.
Hopefully we will be allowed to join in the magic soon too because we will be there in October and November and I will be bummed if it's not figured out for AP & SP by then

Appears they will flip the switch for MagicBands on November 1st. We are staying at BWV in October, and I just customized my MagicBands on My Disney Experience tonight. If you are staying at a Disney resort, they will automatically send you MagicBands. If you don't customize, they will send grey MagicBands.
Also saw this for the first time: Your MagicBands will serve as your Disney's Magical Express "tickets" and Disney Resort hotel room "keys." Be sure to pack your MagicBands in a carry-on bag so you'll have them available upon arrival.

Yes they can, we are AP holders and are getting Magic Bands and have set up fastpass+ for every day. We are actually getting 2 bands each because we are doing a split stay. We had until the Sept 19 to customize them and then I guess they will, just send them to us in the mail. You have to keep checking your MyDisneyExperience everyday and it will say when you are available to order bands and request Fastpass+.
Yes Doc, they are supposed to just link our annual passes to our bands. Your will eventually be able to just do it yourself, through the MyDisneyExperience system.
Mrhub are you staying at a Disney Resort too or did you get your magic bands just because you have AP?
My husband and I are Seasonal Pass holders. I check My Disney Experience everyday and so far it hasn't mentioned anything about us getting magic bands yet. But as I mentioned earlier, we don't stay at a Disney resort when we are in Orlando and I have gotten many different answers when I try to research whether or not we will ever get bands W/O a Disney Resort Reservation.
Yes we are staying at the Grand Floridian and the Poly. I think you have to be staying on property to get the bands and use Fastpass+.
Thanks for the info Mrhub. I do hope that they eventually give it to A & S Pass Holders, no matter where they stay. Even if we don't get a band, I hope we get the opportunity to use Fastpass+.

Hi Jess,
Under "my Itinerary" under MyDisneyExperience" it will show something like this. See where it says "Fastpass+ Service" ? It will say "request fastpass+ service" or something like that.

Oh so you have to do it online? I was looking on the app on my phone
New questions: Once you get a magic band, do you use it for every trip? Or will I have to get another one for my Nov trip? (Assuming Kidani Village is participating by that time, which it seems to be on track for late Oct).
Good question! I'm wondering the same thing.
I called the Disney Annual Pass holder phone # today to ask a few questions about this.
Regarding the magic band she told me that once you receive a magic band it is yours to keep forever. She said that during the testing period(which she said is through the end of the year) some people might get lucky and receive more than one band, but only if they are staying at more than one resort that is participating in the trial testing and only if you are really lucky. She also said that once the magic+ is fully implemented it will be one band for everyone
But she was definite about the fact that once you do receive a magic band it's your to keep
But she also told me that Annual or Seasonal pass holders, that don't stay at a Disney Resort, will have to wait for several more months before we get a magic band or get to use Fast Pass+
Oh yeah Annie once you get the band it's yours to keep and you can activate them and deactivate them.
Jess, you can do it on the app too.
This then begs the question...
What happens if Magic Band is eaten by an animal (obviously not a mouse) or lost or otherwise not functional or available? Does Disney replace?
If your magic band is lost, stolen or eaten by a Yeti at animal kingdom, you can get another one~ BUT all that Disney will say about that so far is "magic bands may be subject to a replacement fee."
The woman I spoke to today said they haven't been told for sure yet but she believes there will be a fee to replace lost magic bands.
This could get very expensive for people who have kids because they WILL lose them at some point~I probably will too

Hmm I don't see it.... Do we have to have our tickets linked?
For my trip, I found that I didn't have the option to personalize my band until about 40ish days before my arrival date. So maybe it's just not time yet? But once the window opens, you have to jump on it, you only have 10 days to personalize before they ship you a generic one.
The option showed up at the 60 day mark for us, but from what I have been seeing and hearing, it's been different for everyone. You just have to keep checking every day Jess.

If you do end up getting a replacement band, it will be the generic one that is gray and won't have your name. If you do lose it, go to guest relations and they will issue you a new one.
Pop Century is listed under "Through October 31", so I'll just keep checking. Does it make a difference if you've checked in on-line or not?

That's a good question JoAnn, I don't know. I was checked in online already. Any body else?
I don't think it matters but I could be wrong since so much is changing at a fast rate. Joann, you'll probably have the option for the magicband since you are staying at a resort that already has them even though it's a "testing" phase through the end of October. Once a resort gets magicbands, theres no turning back.
You can get these bands at PO Riverside but not at French Quarter. We were told when we were there last week that French Quarter would get them in October. You get them at Beach Club as well.
You really have to look at the web site a lot. Make sure your not logged in all the time. You should log off / sign out of the web site everytime, that way it can refresh. When it showed up on ours finally, I had accidentally signed out and when I signed back in, there it was.
