WDWforGrownups Book Club

Hi guys (Millie, glass slipper, Annie, and anyone else who wants to join!)

I've started the book club over at goodreads. Go check it out and join up! Dan Brown's book is coming out on Sept. 15th, so let's thing of something we can read and chat about before then!

I joined the group over at good reads Smile

I was trying to think of a good inbetween/starter book and started flipping through books on the site and thought secret life of bees might be good. Unfortunately I saw the movie, so I have an idea what happens, but I have heard really good things about this book.

I am not attached to the book, so if you are not interested don't be afraid to say so . . I won't be offended awesome Just thought I would throw it out there.

Great idea Sarah! I can go get that as an audiobook and listen to it on my walks... Smile

I just joined too. I probably won't be able to start until we do Dan Brown's book. Work is really starting to "heat up" and my mind will be FRIED for the next month. confused But I am looking forward to the Lost Symbol. My birthday is next week so maybe I'll ask for a Barnes & Noble gift card so I can buy the book! silly

I'm good with secret life of bees as the "in between" book before Dan Brown's!

(Now I gotta go get signed up!)

Yes, thanks Bali for setting this up!!!

So I went to the library to pick up the secret life of bees and apparently it was on summer reading list for the high schoolers and it is all checked out. I put my name down to hold it once it comes in, but it might be a week or two before I can get my hands on the book mad

No worries! Why don't we plan on reading/discussing Secret Life of Bees the first and second weeks of September. That will give everyone a couple of weeks to get their hands on the book! (Works perfect for me, because that means I can read on the beach in Maine!)

Then, when we're done, we can grab Dan Brown's book the second half of Sept.!

Jim! That's awesome! More readers! Looks like we're doing Secret Life of Bees first, then launching into Dan Brown's new book later in September. I'll go get discussions and things sorted on the goodreads website -- and find some good discussion questions!!

See you all there in early september!

By the way, Jim, how was your vacation?!? I haven't heard anything about the great Canadian trek!

Hey Caitie! It looks like you finally got it to work! I've posted a quick notice on the site about when/what we're reading. Feel free to offer ideas clapping

I am excited! I will find a good book to offer as an idea (but I may not participate in the Lost Symbol unless I have a job...I get all my books from the library and the list for that book is HUGE!)

I am still working on making my Goodreads list match my Shelfari because I like the setup of Shelfari more, but want to haev what I have read on both!

Awesome! I've never heard of Shelfari -- thanks for the tip!

Re: Lost Symbol: how fast do you read? I could get the book, read quickly, and send it your way. Then you could take part in the discussion at least a bit! Let me know...

Nope, but I went whitewater rafting, hiked, swam, and got a jacket stolen.

Sounds like a lot of great stuff! Except for the jacket stealing part. sad
