What closing show would you replace.

Thinking about the changes on the way for animal kingdom I'm starting to get excited for a new closing show. That lead me to wonder if you could change any closing show what would it be. For me i would like to see an update to illuminations. I love the show but i would appreciate an update. I feel like wishes has a variety of versions but illuminations feels the same every trip.

I agree - I really want to see an update to Illuminations. I've never really been in awe of the show, and I would love to see something new done with it.

I agree as well...as much as I like Illuminations I would like to see a change.

I think they could incorporate some of the color wonders technology to spice it up. So many international themes are right there that it could be a lot of fun.

Definitely Illuminations. It's always been my least favorite closing show to begin with.

I'm honestly not a huge Fantasmic! fan *ducks*. I feel like using Pocahontas for such a large segment when there is a lot of sentiment that it wasn't a very good film is strange. I feel like Peter Pan would fit better in that spot. Also, I'm majorly ophidiophobic, so giant jafar-as-dayglo-snake is not my friend! LOL!! I love Maleficent and while that segment is cool, I would like to see more contrast between Maleficent and the rocks. In the dark, it blends together a bit. I like the story a lot and I think the message of overcoming your fears is awesome, but the execution is just meh for me.

I agree with you alicemouse! awesome I have never been a fan of Fantasmic.....seems like a lot of stuff just thrown together. The last time we went was the first time in many years and I vowed to not go again.

I think they could update Fantasmic. It's a great show, but it's been playing in a similar way for a really long time. DHS also really needs a regular nighttime fireworks display.

I really like Illuminations and Fantasmic, however I wouldn't mind seeing an update to them.

You know what looked AMAZING? Did anyone see (or watch on YouTube like I had to) Villainy in the Sky that ran on the September 13 Limited Time Magic? It looked so cool! I'd have to see it in person to know for sure, but I think it might rival Celebrate the Magic/Wishes. I would love to see that become a regular fixture at DHS.

Blend in world of color production elements to illuminations and I think you'd have a winning combo!

Ah this is interesting cause I feel the same way about fantastic and illuminations but.... Just may my fiance saw fantastic for the first time she is 25 and was in tears of joy at the end when (spoiler alert) sourcer Mickey came out, she loved it so much I had to buy her a sourcer Mickey plush.

We are taking out brother in law for the first time in October and he doesn't really care for all the cute stuff but I know illuminations is going to blow his mind cause he has never dreamt let alone seen anything like that show.

My point is as old timers it's easy to want change but first timers are often blowen away, saying that maybe replace Pocahontas in fantastic for tangled to modernise it

One show that I think could be changed is going to get me in trouble, but having seen dreams at disneyland paris I would prefer that at MK to wishes....... Sorry

Another vote for Illuminations! It's an interesting show and a great concept, but could definitely do with an update. I LOVE Celebrate the Magic at MK though! (I know that's not specifically a "closing show", but thought it deserved a mention mickey )

Right on, MandaLynn! On our last night in December, there were only about 8 people between me and the castle for celebrate the magic. You can have all of the fireworks shows (even my beloved Wishes) as long as celebrate the magic stays forever! Love, love, love this show!

(Disclaimer: I have not as yet ventured outside of WDW, so I have never seen Dreams or World of Color, both of which I understand are phenomenal.)

I don't think DHS could handle a regular fireworks show every night because TSMM has to be closed down for like four hours for it. People love TSMM.

Good point. Fantasmic fits the bill - it has lots of excitement.

Mandy is the closing of TSMM during any fireworks due to fire safety? I know that some of the buildings in the MK have sprinkler systems on the roof and that they are activated during fhe fireworks shows to prevent roof fires.

I wonder if the nature of Villainy in the Sky would allow it to be performed at the Hollywood Hills Amphitheater so that all rides could remain open.

Pixar Place is a fireworks fall out zone. The cardboard from the fireworks would fall into Pixar Place.

Yeah, that is one we skip to get in something else. I do like Illuminations, but it has been altered quite a bit since it started. I have the recording and there was a lot more Disney quotes and the show was actually longer.

Redo Illuminations. I think the old show was better. We go do something else when it is going on.

I love Fantasmic, and I've no problem with the Pocahontas bit (say what you want about the film, but Colors of the Wind is regarded by many as one of the best Disney songs, so the film coasts by on the strength of that). I think it would be nice to throw in some more characters at the end from some of the lesser known films (Treasure Planet, Atlantis: The Lost Empire, Hunchback, Black Cauldron, etc.), because the whole premise is that Mickey is dreaming, and dreams can sometimes have random elements.

I am huge fan of Illuminations, from the pre-show music all the way through Promise as you exit the park. I annoy my family and friends because I can't miss Illuminations. But it needs an update. I've seen the show tags for 4th of July, Christmas and New Years. They are nice, but we need an update.

And bring back Tapestries Parade!

Never been a fan of Fantasmic at all.

World of Color is so amazing, I loved that they did a winter version with Olaf and singers from YouTube. This was an amazing show and I try to see it every time I go to Disneyland. Fast-pass for it is very important to get better seeing views.
