I'm voting for the 80's. What's your favorite musical decade?

Um, agreed. But I figure that by and large, this will shake out to be a very age-subjective question...don't we figure most of us will favor the decade of our teen years?
I dont know. I would say the most music ive liked has been 80's... but 00's has been good to me too... so its a toss up for me

Ha - that's great! The 80s are the clear winner for me, but gosh, it's nice to hear that other folks who didn't go thru their teen angst during that decade think that the music is swell, too.
Bon Jovi and Journey.... thats enough for me to have a great night!

well.. I grew up in the 80's and I LOVE the music.. but for me, I'm gonna have to say the 60's. It was so revolutionary and sooo much amazing music came out of that era.
I love 80s music, but I have an old soul. I love the old 60s soul music and 70s funk bands. It's hard for me to choose, but I will go with the 60s. Music was just true to the soul then.

I agree! I almost said 60s. I grew up listening to a lot of 60s an 70s (Beatles, Beach Boys, early BeeGees) via my parents, so that's probably my second favorite, although early 90s with Sting and U2 continuing to put out great stuff was good, too.
I guess I like artists more than time periods.
Depends on the type right?

The most music that I love was probably the 80s, I'm not necessarily sure they were the best musicians though...nor the best dressed.
All music has a time and place and always depends on moods.
I grew up in the 80- early 90's and that doesnt mean thats my fav music.
I'm a musician and also spin records so I enjoy all kinds of music.
mase did you know you can find Bon Jovi on CMT now? isnt that a little sad? sorry, I dont count country as music...

Music is an art form whose medium is sound. Common elements of music are pitch (which governs melody and harmony), rhythm (and its associated concepts tempo, meter, and articulation), dynamics, and the sonic qualities of timbre and texture. The word derives from Greek moysiki (mousike), "(art) of the Muses."[1]

hey sorry, its just my opinion...
No problem To each his own. But I found that country is in fact alive and well.

Oh gosh - for sure, each to his own opinion. But don't rob yourself of some truly incredible music talent just because you don't like the genre. Keith Urban and Brad Paisley are some of the best guitar players on the planet; Alison Krauss has a voice like an angel.
I personally am not a big fan of rap, but I've really been moved by a few songs that I've heard, enough to say that I can't say "I hate rap." Make sense?
Just my opinion. Shared with respect for you and music in general
CarJust I just want you to know I was kidding you. I did not take offense but I and a lot of us do like that genre of music.
ALSO did you ever see the hot chicks lining up in front of the stage for a Brad Paisley or Keith Urban Concert. And beleive me they are not in their late 60's like I am. (PS keep that age a secret )
I've got all the hot chicks I want here at home....
Yeah, but just cause your on a diet doesn't mean you can't look at the menu!
I'm back you up all the way VL! Im with you.

Carjust. What do you spin?
Hi,
I like hot chicks. If they weren't hot (at least in terms of body temperature) they would probably be dead.
I heart the '70s. So much great classic rock (from bands such as the Eagles and Lynyrd Skynyrd, to name two), but I also like the '80s.
