What Was All That About.???

Hi Folks...You know there are certain attractions that amaze me how busy they get..For example..Tomorrow Land Speedway..It's so popular yet I just don't see why...Another one that seems to be huge in MK is Peter Pan..I come off it scratching my head and thinking " Did I miss something " ...Do you have any attractions at WDW that are big show stoppers yet you can't see what all the fuss is about.? sad

We always wonder about those rides too. We haven't been on the Speedway since our DD was a little thing. Didn't do that much for us. And the Tiki show with those birds! Sorry, but I just don't get excited watching it. Once was enough. Peter Pan was cute but too short for me. Just wish they could have made it longer.

Now that you mention it Boomer ..We done the Tikki room once and that was enough... yuck

Oh mrfrerret how can you not like fantasmic?

I get the reason behind every attraction but I really can't see how toms sawers island is still there taking up so much space, same with the speed way

I'm not a Speedway fan (too tall to be comfy in those itty-bitty cars), but I'm sure my feelings about most of the rides will change. Our little ones are 3 and 14 months, so the next trip will be with them Smile

I'll admit I loved me some Tiki Room on our last trip though - it was a great place to sit my pregnant butt down for a few Smile

Buzz lightyear's Spaceranger spin and Maelstrom. These are both just OK and time killers for us.

Pretty much any of the dance parties. I mean, come on, why would anyone want to be dancing under the hot Florida sun. I mean, most people will say the only reason to go to a theme park is rides, rides, rides. I'm sure there are secondary reasons or other primary reasons for visiting a theme park but rides usually come first on most people's to do list. I suppose those dance parties could be good exercise and keeps your body moving but if you're doing so much standing and walking, why tire yourself even more?

Aside from that:
MK: Magic Carpets of Aladdin and Astro Orbiter. (I see long times for Astro Orbiter almost every time I go. We already have not one, but TWO Dumbo ride systems. Do we really need more of those flying spinner rides? Not really)
Epcot: Captain EO
AK: Triceratop Spin (See above.)
HS: American Idol Experience.

I rode the Tomorrowland Speedway for the first (and probably last) time on our recent trip. I'd skipped it till then because, really, why bother? But I was touring solo while hubby rested up at our resort, so what the heck. Yep. It's a car ride. But I imagine it's quite thrilling to kids who aren't old enough to drive real cars yet. I have similar feelings about Tom Sawyer Island - did it once, don't need to do it again, but I'm sure it's great for children who need to blow off a little steam running around.

Now, as for Peter Pan's Flight? I think it's one of the best rides at the Magic Kingdom!

For me Buzz Lightyear in MK, Kali in AK, Backlot Tour in HS, and Captain EO in Epcot. Unfortunately I will suffer through Captain EO again next month since DH inexplicably loves it. waiting

When I read in your pre trip report you had FP+ for C.EO, I had to read it again, to make sure I read it right. I've never heard of anyone loving C.EO laugh
That's why Disney is awesome. There is something for everyone!

Ditto!!

My non-favorite rides & shows that seem to have long wait times for what they are:

MK: Winnie the Pooh (I don't hate it. I just think it's wacky and disjointed and I'm not a huge Pooh fan to start with), Tomorrowland Speedway (we have one of these at Hersheypark. Re-theme it to Cars and I'll give it a second look.)

EPCOT: Universe of Energy (not that wait times are crazy here, but 5 seconds is too long for me to wait for this ride)

HS: Great Movie Ride (I've seen way too many cast members who are not being assigned as drivers on this ride who do not possess acting as a talent)

AK: Dinosaur (Not that the line gets very long, but I don't like this ride)

For me:

MK: I'm with King Fergus on this one and say Peter Pan. It's cute but not worth a one - two hours wait!
Epcot: Test Track & Finding Nemo
AK: Kali River
HS: None!!

I wish Dinosaur was the Indiana Jones ride (from DLand). I've never ridden anything except dinosaur in that area of the park. I haven't spent a dime on the games. I rarely go passed Everest. I've seen the nemo show...cute but 1 and done.

I rarely hit fantasyland except for the Poohbear ride and honestly after the Tokyo Pooh ride our American ride is sadly lacking. I've walked through the HIStK playground once in 16 years! I've never set foot on T. Sawyer's island at WDW (DLand yes but not world)
I love The Land ride but only to see what's growing in the garden area.

I wouldn't want to wait very long, but Universe of Energy is great when you need to take a break but don't want to just sit on a bench.

As I said, I love Peter Pan's Flight, but I won't wait that long either. If I can't get on in 30 minutes and don't have a FastPass I skip this ride.
