What Would Walt Think?

What do you think Walt would think of Disney today?

That it is too commercialized and overpriced.

I'm not sure what he'd think of Epcot since it's nothing like what he had in mind originally.

I think Walt would be proud of what his company has become. I don't think he could of imagined it to be 5 parks with one in progress plus the cruise line, adventures by Disney and three resorts just for relaxing. I'm pretty sure that the current company is more then he could of imagined. I think he would be proud Walt Disney World because I think he didn't imagine it would end up being four parks with a bunch of hotels and a couple water parks. Once he got over the awe of how big his company has become he would probably be disappointed in the price for one day tickets and such since he did want everyone to enjoy the parks.

I don't think he'd be thrilled with the antics of the former Disney child stars lately.........Also don't think he'd appreciate them trashing (break free of Disney image) that's been going on. What's so wrong with the "Disney Image"? Personally I like the clean cut, classy, mannerally image Walt tried to instill. Kurt Russell, Jody Foster, Haley Mills, and Annette Funicello didn't turn out too bad.

I agree. I don't get why these stars go to such extremes to shed the "Disney Image" especially considering they wouldn't be where they are today without Disney.

This is a very good question, I've been reading and watching a lot about Walt recently, about his business savvy, ethics and ideas. I honestly don't think he would be in to the lazy imagineering behind adding characters to rides, I think he would love animal kingdom, the studios might disappoint in places, Epcot would be a massive disappointment but I think world showcase would hold his I attention and I think BOG at magic kings dom would blow him away. I think he would really get a kick out of the new mine train and think it funny that a film he made in the 30s was getting a ride!

The biggest disappoint for Walt though would be out dated attractions still running because guests like them or because they were his ideas, he always said he wanted the parks to always grow and change, and also that he didn't want the parks to be a tribute to him. He would hate the partners statue. So I think rides like the jungle cruise and speedway would anger him a little, as he would look at the new things and thing, "why is all this old stuff here"

I do think he would be happy not only with WDW as a whole but also how he changed the face of family entertainment.
