What's the Best Party Activity at WDW?

My family and some friends will be down in Disney next year two weeks before my and my daughter's birthday. My daughter is begging me to have a birthday party while we're at WDW. My daughter will be turning 13.

What do you think the best "special" activity to do as a birthday party would be? I think that we'll probably end up with between 10 -15 people all together. I've considered a dinner show, a fireworks viewing with a special cake, the pirate fireworks cruise. I'm just not sure what regular option that Disney offers will be most "special" and birthday party like without me having to shell out the bucks for a fully custom party.

What special events have you attended? Which do you think make the best party?

How much fun would it be to have a birthday party at Disney!?! How lucky is she!

I found a few ideas over at AllEars.net that might be worthy of consideration:

Don't know what the budget might be, but the Polynesian party would be awfully memorable for me!! (Even the one without the Character!!)

Let us know what you decide!

Oh that Polynesian party does sound kind of cool. I've been leaning towards booking the bunch of us on one of the Pirate Fireworks cruises.

The Pirate Fireworks cruise does sound like fun. I read on DFB a couple of months ago about an Illuminations dessert party someone planned. They were able to customize a menu to get to a reasonable cost (compared to the other options they were given). I don't think they had as many people in the party as you are expecting but it's something else to think about. I'll see if I can it.

Ohhh I love the idea of a cruise! It's a great way to celebrate without breaking the bank!

A good friend of mine threw a 30th birthday party for her husband at HS (most of their family lives in Fla) they had a room in HS and dinner was served buffet style, then Mickey came and they had an escorted tour of Osbourne Lights..it was amazing! But I am certain it cost her a pretty penny.

Kristen - did you ever decide on an option? I am dying to hear more about the Pirate Cruise! I saw one of the boats while I was waiting for a Friendship boat last fall, and they look sooo cute!

Anyone done the Pirate Fireworks Cruise?

I did not! The trip has actually been postponed, and so we won't be there to celebrate Katie's Birthday. Instead we're going to be in Disneyland in May.

I do still want to try out this pirate cruise. I've read a few blog posts on the subject and it really does sound like a good time!

We are going in May and I'm thinking a Pirate Cruise may be a lot of fun...looking into it now!
