Whats the best way to get an Annual Pass?

We are going to WDW at least twice in 2010. I think its time we get an Annual Pass , but how should I go it if our first trip is in 23 days? Do I call and get a voucher and hope it gets here before we leave, or can I just get them when we check in , or at the parks?

mrhub, you can just go to the guest services window at DTD or at any of the parks and purchase them there. The last time we purchased them, we were staying at the BWV and walked to the Epcot International gateway entrance and purchased them and we walked right into the park immediately.

I agree. You can't buy them at check-in at your hotel, and if you get a voucher, you'll have to go to guest services at one of the parks or DTD to activate it anyway.

We usually head to guest services outside our first park to purchase our APs.

Note: the DTD guest services stays open until 11pm or midnight these days...

Thanks VL & Annie and Happy New Year to everybody. I figured the best answer would come from people who do it all the time. When I talked to to DVC member services they told me I would have to call and get a voucher and to tell them I would pick it up at will call and they were just totally confusing.

You are entirely welcome, AND as an afterthought when you go to guest services to purchase your passes, be sure to bring your DVC membership card so that you can get the DVC membership discount. And be sure to ask for it, they won't ask.

Ooh! Good point. I forgot about the DVC discount you'll be getting! Such an awesome perk.

You should only do that when renewing your annual passes with your DVC member discount. It should be done before your annual passes expire, and chances are, you won't be at the parks when that happens. So you should call the DVC member services, go through all that, get the voucher, and then, on your next visit, pick up your passes at the most convenient Guest Relations.

This is a great question! I'd like to add to it...what about TIW?

Can I buy my AP at Guest Services and then get a TIW card as well?

Good question. You used to HAVE to purchase your TIW card prior to getting to WDW. You could pick it up there, but had to purchase it before you arrived. Now, All Ears is reporting that you can buy them AT guest services:
