What's the line for too big?

I always think that a family trip would be fun, but some members of the cadre think it will be too much trouble to organize everyone. In light of Jess' Epic 27 member family trip I was curious where each of you would think the line would fall? I think 8 might be about my limit.

8 would probably be the limit for me too, you can easily split into 2 groups of 4 for rides then.

That's a good point. I was going to say 10, but you've converted me to 8.

8 sounds good to me. I've seen people with bigger groups than mine on some other boards- family reunions and such- but they organized very heavily. 8 is do-able I think and would probably be my limit if I were organizing the trip.

I don't have a line. I have a small family, but I would love to go with all of my family including cousins and such. Maybe even some friends included. Just being there together would be great and I have enough experience planning things to pull it off. Wouldn't even try to do much with everyone in the same place at the same time. Maybe a night or two at the resort and a couple meals but otherwise small groups.

I think once you get past 8 you have to give up on the togetherness. (Although I hear tell of a mystical familiy that once did it with 27 silly )

I think you could have a blast with a larger group as long as you just don't try to stay together 24/7. Which works well for me because no one likes to be around me 24/7 anyway.

Very true. Meals together were good- the Hoop Dee Doo was amazing b/c with a table that big they came to us, sang about NJ and picked my older cousins for the stage. Honestly, since our party had mainly adults and older- late teen children, and a few of us who were young, it worked out b/c the adults wanted to do what we wanted to do. They had fun watching us so we all just traveled and took it slow. Organization was tough but our meal system of eacamily picking worked out. In '95 we didn't do ADRs except for the castle and character meals! It was more of a pain just waiting for each other all the time. But it wasn't that bad. I'd like it better with a smaller group now due how you must be on schedule and you have to reserve everything at Disney. We had mostly CS lunches so we cuold spread out then or even split for lunch and called dinners in ahead of time but not 180 in advance!

Yeah, like I said I have learned better than to try to have everyone together all the time. Just getting together here and there and being in small groups the rest of the time would be awesome.

If I'm planning, my limit is 4! Wink

If someone else is planning, I think I'll up it to 6. Laughing out loud

I just can't imagine wandering through crowded parks with so many people! This is why I think a Disney cruise would be the best option for big groups -- everyone's on the same ship, so it's easier to "be together" without so much organization.

I will say I definitely don't want to be the coordinator.
