What's the most relaxing thing to do?

We all have stories of "doing EVERYTHING" at disney world, and I was wondering if there are stories of the most relaxing thing/trip you've experienced at disney.

I went on one trip where we hit the parks for a few hours in the morning, then spent about five hours each day reading our books by the pool before getting ready for dinner. It was probably a waste of money, but we were so easygoing and relaxed during and after that trip that it was entirely worth it.

That's another reason why I think it's key to make your vacation affordable, so you don't freak out over how much you're spending and try to "maximize" everything.

The most relaxing WDW vacations for me are the ones where we really have very little planned other than our ADRs and just wake up every morning and decide what we want to do.

Lying on the Beach at the Poly during the afternoon, where you can hear the sounds of the Lagoon, the water lapping against the beach, the train at WDW and the boat horns, an occasional "whooshhhhhh" of the monorail, as well as the sounds of birds flying in and out.

All the while knowing you can (in 30 minutes) be anywhere on Disney property heading to any ride or show they offer or going to any restaurant.

Or you can continue to lie there for that 30 minutes. Or hours.

Relaxing.

Heaven on earth.

Somebody loan me a couple of grand. I need to relax too! mickey

Good question!

I think there's nothing more relaxing than room service. I always think it's fun to have one morning when we order room service to be delivered around 9:00, sleep in, then have breakfast in bed or on the balcony.

Sadly didn't get to do that this trip, but maybe next time!

The most relaxing thing is sitting down in your hotel room for the first time and knowing you have a full trip ahead of you. That's probably my favorite part of the trip, when all the stress of travel and checking in is over and all the fun is ahead of you. clapping

You know, it really does have to do with how relaxed you PLAN on being. I've been completely relaxed in the parks, definitely.

Probably my most relaxing trip was with my mom a couple of years back--we arrived at Coronado Springs at around 1:00pm and promptly fell asleep until 6:00pm! I don't think either of us have ever had such a wonderful nap! We spent the week playing cards, swimming, doing a few rides...it was heavenly.

We like to relax in the parks. Whenever we're at disney for one of the seasonal events, we always try to see the concerts, or we'll just find a quiet spot somewhere on an edge of a park and people watch for a while.

It's weird, but we like to play a little game where we try to guess information about the families and people we see--where they're from, when they took their last vacation, if they're going to have any more kids, what they do for a living, etc. It's fun to speculate and be quasi-anthropologists for the afternoon.

Plus, it makes us feel even more relaxed when we look around and see how UN-relaxed everyone else seems to be!

It's that "Friday" Feeling, when you have your whole weekend ahead of you.

There's nothing better than harsh judgement to make you take a look at your own behavior! I always see families fighting, throwing tantrums, and just generally looking exhausted. It puts me in check just in case I was starting to feel a little annoyed with something or irritated because I hadn't allowed myself to sleep enough. wink
