What's Your Dream Cruise?

If you could cruise anywhere where would you go? How long would it be? What sort of extra programing would you want to see?

This one is tough. There are so many places I want to go. The Caribbean, Mexico, Alaska, Europe. I love the islands so I think I would pick a 2 week cruise hitting as many as possible. I don't like too many days at sea back to back, I get stir crazy so if that is the case, I need all kinds of entertainment. Cooking classes or Wine pairings would be awesome! Maybe a dance class or 2 just to get the basics.

On our last one, I mostly sat on deck (in the shade) and sipped on adult drinks and was as happy as could be. I really don't require much until we hit land then I want to go go go!

I have 4 on my bucket list. One, we are doing this fall, which hits up the Eastern Caribbean. We've been everywhere else down there, but I've always wanted to see St. Thomas.

The other three are Alaska, Hawaii and one overseas that hits up Ireland.

I actually love sea days to relax and catch a little sun. I love the non-rushed days of lounging around, exploring the ship and catching shows. We don't gamble, so the casino holds no appeal to us. We do like the musical shows, karaoke and comedy shows. On deck, I love the Lido parties and love to sit and watch the stupid things like "Hairy Man Contest" and such. We love to people watch so watching others have a great time and see what they will come up with is hilarious.

We have attended a couple of dance classes, and I wish they had more of those on sea days. We had a blast learning "Thriller" a couple of years ago.

I hate boats..It's the spiral staircase that's the problem after a few bottles of bubbly..

I would definitely want to do the classic New York to UK transatlantic crossing on the Cunard line. I like the idea of sailing on the QM2 because it's something completely different, sort of an escape to a different world - Formalwear at dinner, champagne lounge, art galleries and RADA performing classic plays on board, tea at 4pm, etc.

I would LOVE to do a coastal california pixar cruise that stops at San Francisco, LA, and San Diego with excursions to Walt Disney Family Museum, Disneyland, and San Diego Zoo. I had no idea that DCL did such a thing until right before the last one sailed and I haven't seen it offered again.

Also on our bucket list are Alaska, New England and Canada that includes Boston as a port of call, and Northern Europe & Scandinavia.

I prefer cruises that dock somewhere every day because there is nothing worse than feeling sick on the boat and knowing that you have 36 hours until you can stand on land again! I really like the ones that dock overnight so you get two days in the same city. Double the excursions, double the fun!!

As far as onboard entertainment, I like shows that are well done. If you're not going to do a good show, don't bother to do one at all (ahem, Carnival). I love the comedians, but only for the family shows. We've been to the "adult" show and had it be downright raunchy and vulgar. If that's what it takes for you to do comedy, than you must not be a very funny person. We're not casino people and we tend not to drink much (especially at $10 per cocktail). I'd love to go on a ship with a movie theater and I think I remember hearing about one with an ice skating rink?? That would be awesome. We particularly enjoy the trivia contests, bingo, the adults only deck and pool, and of course FOOD.

I'd like to go on an Eastern Caribbean cruise. Oh wait, I am in 4 weeks! This will be our first cruise and is really a test to see if we are "cruisers" or not.

But, for the ultimate, I think a 113 day world cruise with Cunard would fit the bill... (and what a bill it would be!)

I've seen the 113 day cruise before too! It would be amazing if I had the time. Oh yea, and the MONEY!

The casino is not my thing either but the hubby, well, we didn't spend very much of our "cruise money" at all. He had $200 set aside and gambled a little every night. When he was up he cashed out and we put it on our bill. The $ he sat aside then went on the bill before we left and it worked out great. I just sat, played trivia and had awesome fruity drinks while he played.

Not sure if you're a James Taylor fan. But Cunard is doing a westbound transatlanic on QM2 in August with James Taylor and band doing a couple of concerts. I'd really enjoy that!

I'm never going to get Peter on a big ship, so mine would be an extended river cruise all through Europe. Starting in Amsterdam, and then cruising for weeks, ending up maybe in Paris.

I think for me, I'd love to cruise to the UK and Ireland, stop by France, Germany or the Netherlands. Other than that, I'd love to cruise to and around Australia and see the country. Otherwise, state wise, I think a West Coast cruise from California to Washington would be nice. Even though I've been to San Diego and San Francisco, I still feel like I haven't seen LA and I've never been to Seattle and Portland.

My dream cruise is one where the seas are so calm there isn't so much as a ripple, aside from the ship's wake, and the ocean reflects the sky like a mirror. Give me that and I will go anywhere.
