Turkey
Stuffing
Mashed Potatoes & Gravy (from drippings)
Green Bean Casserole
Can-shaped cranberry sauce...I just LOVE it Smile)
Waldorf Salad
Rolls & butter
Pecan Pie (DH's favorite)
Pumpkin Pie (my favorite)

Yuuuummmmmmmmm!!!

I'm SO HUNGRY!!!!! Laughing out loud

We're having a lot of the standards, too, but my mother-in-law is in charge, so I'm not sure of everything on the table. Mostly

Turkey
Mashed Potatoes
Stuffing (?)
Veg of some sort
Pie
Cookies

DW might make some cranberry/mandarin orange relish, but she's pretty busy this week, so maybe not!

Bella, if you have Mac and Cheese and cornbread stuffing at your house, set the table for at least one more next year!

Steak off the grill and baked potato, coleslaw, some veggie, shrimp and beer.
That ought to do it.

hmmm its this "salad" thing my grandmother used to make and we cant have a holiday dinner without it.

Sour cream (obviously)
Marshmallows
Marishino cherries
coconut
pineapple

and mix all together

The trick is not to turn it pink... crossfingers

I'm a traditionalist about these things, but that sounds pretty darn good!

Psycho Alice -- We do something similar except with ... I don't know what all is in it because I don't eat it. But it sounds pretty similar.

Awe...Mrhub!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

PA, I am not sure about this sour cream salad. I can't picture it in my head.

My grandmother-in-law makes a congealed salad that oogies me out..It's jello, fruit nuts and cream cheese. I've never bothered to taste it.

Bella - where are the french fries? And what's for dessert? Smile

PsychoAlice - yes. Libations. They're a good thing. A few years ago, we couldn't make it to my in laws until Thanksgiving day (awwwww....sarcastic sadness here) - and when we walked in, with all the cooking almost completely finished, my very wise bro in law handed me mulled spider nicely spiked with spiced rum. He's been high on my list ever since. Wink

Let's see - my husband is downstairs right now, cooking up a storm (yes! it's true!), with his mother pointing and giving directions. Here, it will be

-Crab Artichoke Spinach Dip to Start (because really, before a rich meal, you need a fattening snack)
-Brined, Smoked Turkey
-Mashed Potatoes and Gravy (I had to LOBBY to get MP on the table 11 years ago...they insisted they weren't part of the "official" meal. Whatev)
-Sweet Potato Souffle, half nutty (yay!) half marshmallow-y (ick)
-Cornbread and Sausage Dressing (hubs is experimenting...this is not a tradition)
-Freshly made cranberry orange compote
-Yummy sauteed green beans
-Summer squash casserole (why? WHY?)
-Pecan Pie
-Pumpkin Bread Pudding
-Wine, lots of wine (sweet I'm afraid. My offer for a nice Pinot Noir was vetoed.)

Have a wonderful day, everyone! I hope none of you get stuck in the kitchen all day. And for those of you who are working...I feel ya. I'll be logging a few hours today myself.

I know, right? It's so funny, because ever since the great potato debate of '99, I take notice of potatoes on EVERY SINGLE TG TABLE I SEE. (I stopped pointing them out to Hubs a few years ago.)

There is distance for us, but they like to bridge it. Frequently. confused It could be worse, I know, so I will put on my ears and wish myself away to my happy place! There's no place like home, there's no place like home (wait, I'm totally mixing up my franchises.) mickey
