I love being here--my mom is the one person in the entire world who I don't have to worry about taking care of the boy (other then Dave of course)

We're in beautiful, sunny Charlotte for the holiday! Upper 60's today, upper 50's tomorrow and cloudy. Which is STILL a thousand times better than Minnesota! We are most excited about our first TG in North Carolina!
Next week we start packing for our short little excursion to WDW! EEEee!

Hi,
I'll be spending it at my friend Pam's with her family, only a few miles away. It's only 40F (4.5C) going to 47F (8.2C) with rain predicted, so I'm avoiding the high school football game between Haddon Township (from which I graduated in 1982) and its conference rival Audubon.

Minnesota before this? Welcome to the South! As much as I really, really love to visit all over, I think this corner of the world will always be home (US Southeast, I mean.) And Charlotte is lovely.
Brad - it will be similar in FL - 82 and sunny the last I heard, but we're at the in laws. I don't mind so much...it's kind of become a tradition to be here for TG since I INSIST on Christmas at our house.
Tony - I promise I'm not totally un-globally minded. It's so funny though...I get that others don't celebrate Thanksgiving, but it's just so ingrained into the American psyche that I can't imagine what it would be like not to have it recognized. My expat American friends tend to flock together like crazy on TG day. Are you totally in the throes of Christmas over there yet?

Hi everyone,
I'm here doing laundry until I go to my friend Pam's for Thanksgiving dinner this afternoon. It's a few miles from my house and I'll be with Pam, her friend Mike, her parents, sister, brother-in-law and nephew. Today's weather is expected to be rainy and chilly, with a high temperature of 47F (8.2C), so I'm not going to the Haddon Township-Audubon (New Jersey) high school football game.
I think that Canadians celebrate Thanksgiving on the second Monday in October, and that America and Canada may be the only two countries in the world that do so.

We're with my in-laws this weekend. Playing board games and having a great time. Weather went from high to low in record time yesterday, so we went from shorts and tshirts to winter jackets!
