I never *ever* go sleeveless. I just don't - to me no one wants to see that flab of skin under my arm waving back at them. That flab could scare small children, it sure scares me. I don't do it... no no no.

There are an awful lot of pictures of me sleeveless on this past vacation and I have to say that the arms are not quite as bad as I thought. They're not great, but maybe no one has to run and hide.

No. No one has to run and hide.

IMO the rules of modesty at a place like WDW are the same for everybody. No one should be running around mostly naked, and anyone can wear shorts and sleeveless shirts if they so desire.

I always do this too! Even though it's not usually the kind of thing I'd wear to the park, the outfits are so creative and fun to look at.

Also JMUDukz, I totally agree about the inappropriate tshirt slogans. It REALLY bothers me when I hear people using profanity around all the kids in the park, and wearing clothes with stuff like that on it is just as bad if not worse. Is it really that much to ask for people to leave their shirts with gross sayings on them at home instead of wearing them to a family-friendly park?

But getting back to the original question, I start thinking about it pretty far in advance, then still manage to be a last-minute packer. I try to dress on the border of comfort and still looking nice enough that pictures won't make me cringe when I see them later.

Also I am a GoodWill Shopper. LOVE IT!
I will start looking now for Disney T-shirts etc...
I am also a big sundress wearer. Do not do shorts (hate my thighs). I will do skorts once in a while.
But I am hoping to find a 1950's (Think I Love Lucy) red with white poke a dots casual dress (Minnie Mouse). That I can wear to MK. And I would pair it with a pair of white keds and bobbie socks. This is my salute to the orginal Mickey Mouse Club. Can not forget the hair either a pony tail or pulled back with a hand band.
DH is a jeans and t-shirt guy. He will wear what he likes. And he hates to spend money on himself for new cloths.

Keep looking! I found my red polka-dotted dress at Goodwill for 4.75. It's a little big, but with a black shirt underneath, black leggings, a short crinoline, white gloves, yellow socks (still to get), red keds, and mouse-ears -- it's my Minnie costume for MNSSHP!! I had a lot of the stuff already from my dance performances, so total amount spent on this costume so far is $11.72 - only mouse ears to get which I'll get at the park. It makes me chuckle that I'll probably spend more on the mouse ears than I did on the entire rest of the costume. laugh

Glad to know that I'm not the only one who does a spreadsheet! LOL! It should be warm enough in late September early October for capri's for me, shorts for hubby. Evenings i usually throw on a maxi dress and grab a jean jacket. Keep it comfortable... Since we moved from Buffalo to SC, I think the only shoes I have are flipflops....

I usually leave shopping until the end of my trip, but this time I have made a resolution to head to DTD right at the start of my trip to buy a Disney shirt that I can wear during my stay. I have to admit as much as I love Disney merchandise, I just don't wear it much at home, so there is no point buying it on my last day!

Yes they have an iron and ironing board. I admit I iron before I pack but then when I unpack must touch up my tops. May be this year I will just pack without ironing.

muchlove I love it! I love Goodwill! I can all ways find really nice stuff there and sometimes still have the tags on it. This past weekend we had a child consignment sale in town and got my DDS (19months and just starting to get into Mikey, Minnine she loves Donald and learning the different princess..she really likes chip from Beauty and the Beast) Tinkerbell footed jammies for $1.00 and a Cindy sweetshirt for $2.00 Love my consigment sales!

I carry a small bottle of the Downey wrinkle remover spray. Works will on t-shirts, just hang them up and spray it on then with hands smooth out. Think I got it in the travel section of Rite Aid.

I've got a little over two weeks until my Birthday Bash and I feel like I'm last minute packing. DW is gonna wing it for our 3 night whirlwind trip.

DH wears cargo shorts and polo shirts. He ALWAYS has his safari style hat (no upturn brim) along with socks and tennis shoes. Nothing changes except the colors (which I buy anyway).

As we have evolved thru our trips, I like the philosophy of "take half the clothes". So that I feel good and still feel that I look appropriate, I am color-coordinating my clothes this time (2 colors with white) So I have a few pieces already and I picked up pieces on end of winter clearance of last summer clothes. It's also easier to carry jewelry than more clothes and as I have traveled I find the heavier jewelry isn't worn anyway. I also take quarters and washer soap and run a couple loads mid-trip so I can wear them again, but switch them around for variety.

So in answer yes, I have it "planned out" in March for Sept. Of course if I stain something over the summer OR I wear something out, I will need to insert something to fill the void.

Aside from clothes, I have a pile where goes the ponchos, collapsible beer glasses (new this year), travel size items that I pick up along the way.

YES!!!! Goodwill, St Vincents, and local consignment shops is the majority of my clothes. I just fill in the holes with last year summer clothes on sale this spring.! I don't do the "character" dressing, but I have gotten quite a few Diseny t-shirts and hoodies this way too.

Yes there are irons in all resorts and lines to dry clothes. Another trick to just get the wrinkles out is Downy Wrinkle Release. I get small bottles in the travel size section. Steam in the shower can work but this helps tshirts drop the wrinkles without ironing knit shirts.

May I add one more thing? Everyone should be wearing underwear!!!! I posted an event on another thread here about a lady who wasn't.....harness.....I can handle everyone size and shape and all the wild outfits that make them happy....but.....

I don't own anything that you could call a wardrobe, I have shorts and tshirts and that is all I wear all year long even in the winter. I have had the same t shirts for about 5 years or so with a couple of new ones once in a while. (not big on fashion)

Oo I like this thread! I planned all my outfits a couple weeks ago for my May trip. I have a 7 dwarves lacy tank top, a teal shirt with 6 princesses, and I also got a pair of tights with Alice on them, a bracelet with some hip looking princesses. I am most excited for my little mermaid shirt, bracelet, button, and two necklaces biggrin I got all of those at Hot Topic of all places, on a nice sale wink

well as a female I start planning as soon as I have committed to going to Disney. And I start thinking about the weather and where I will be eating so my clothes and shoes I start to jot down but I don't actually pack until the day before am leaving as I have learned the hard way that if I start to pack before that I keep going into my luggage and either taking things out or adding things. silly

I'm with you kathys! I start thinking about shoes first, since I'm a big believer of being cute AND comfortable (I usually wear Toms at the parks) and then plan up from there Smile I also like to choose some of my favorite characters and put together outfits inspired by them (not costumes...it's referred to as "Disney-bounding" and my sister MeganLeigh went into more detail on her trip report from last October!). I usually just do whatever characters I am in love with at the moment, but for our short trip in May, my mom and sister thought it would be fun to coordinate! We've decided on Huey, Duey, and Louie for one park day (so easy and simple) and we are currently trying to narrow down our 2nd park day options! It's more challenging to do the group thing because we all have different opinions, but I think it will be fun Smile For the family trip in October, I've got a ton of ideas that I need to sort through: Tiger Lily, Smee, Jasmine, Malificent...the list goes on!

I love planning and have a few very detailed spreadsheets for our big trips, so deciding what to pack is definitely a fun thing for me (and going back and revising the list a hundred times!). This is one of the ways I keep my Disney magic going throughout the year mickey

LOVE the Hot Topic tank tops! I got the Peter Pan and Gaston ones. So cute and comfy and breathable so perfect for the warm weather during our upcoming Sept trip.

WE are going with another couple this time (yeah!) so I asked DH if we should get matching shirts? He looked at me like I ws crazy then replied, "I'm 6'6" and Greg will probably either me next to me or you (me) will. Why would I want to wear matching clothes?"

Then he came back later and said if I wanted the matching-tshirt, he wanted the men's to say, "We're not married. Those two women are groupies." My friend (wife of couple) just looked at him and snorted. I guess we aren't wearing matching tshirts.....

There is a gesture he uses from an old RED GREEN episode (not sure how many of your get this out of Canada) watch for "matching sweaters."

Very little planning it is just whatever shorts and t-shirts are currently hiding in the wardrobe.That being said they don't have much of a chance to hide as that is pretty much what i wear outside of work all year round.
