Which moderate do you recommend?

laugh waiting yay wink
My hubby and I will be celebrating our 15th anniversary in March. We have always stayed at a value resort, but this time we are upping the ante to a moderate. He likes CBR and I am leaning towards POR or POFQ. Any suggestions or recommendations? Pros/Cons. ... Thanks

POFQ - it's small, quaint, and romantic!

Port Orleans is VERY popular with many of the folks around here. The property is a little smaller, the setting is charming and very romantic at night, they have killer beignets at the quick service. You can take the boat to Downtown Disney, or book a carriage ride, and there's live entertainment in the lounge at night.

I would say neither! I would choose Coronado Springs. It is newer and the rooms look more updated and nicer. CBR is old IMO and the last time I stayed there was in 95 and it needed a face lift then!

I just finished writing "5 Reasons We Love Coronado Springs" yesterday - it will be up on the blog later this week!

I'm a huge fan of POFQ! That's when my hubby and I spent out honeymoon. I find it to be one of the more romantic resorts on property. We love the setting, we love the rooms and we especially love that there is only one bus stop (POR has multiple bus stops). And as Kristen mentioned, the beignets are fantastic!

I second Eeyore. We weren't a huge fan of CBR and definitely thought it was due for some refurbishments.

We've only stayed at POR, and would happily return again. I don't like New Orleans itself, eek so I have no interest in staying in POFQ. Luckily DH feels the same.

If we were going to try a new moderate, I think I would book CSR. We've had family stay there, and they loved it.

Aren't we helpful?? LOL. I think you've gotten a "yay" and a "nay" for every moderate!! I don't think you can go wrong with whatever you choose!

I have to add my 2 cents to this...as you can see Mrhub is the deluxe resort person. I was perfectly happy staying at CBR before he insisted we give the Poly a try. I will also admit, I have now become a deluxe resort snob too.

I have stayed at Coronado Springs and it was very nice. My parents and I love it. Caribbean Beach was nice but only stayed there for one night.

JoAnn Pop Century is a great resort! I prefer to stay there if I'm only staying for a night or so.

It actually makes me feel like I'm living in "The Princess and the Frog". Smile

I'd recommend CSR! Besides having a great main pool area, it also offers many deluxe amenities at a mod price and now offers business club level rooms now with lounge access.

CSR has queen beds, a sliding wooden door separating the sink area from the room (can be good for little ones napping in a pack n play) but only one sink.

Amenities include a fitness center, spa, free wi-fi, tanning beds, a sauna, salon, full menu room service and a night/dance club.

The resort offers the same toiletries as the deluxes (except GF). CSR has separate shampoo and conditioner instead of the shampoo/conditioner combo at the other mods and values (a small thing, I know, but it means I don't have to pack shampoo and conditioner).

CSR has the largest hot tub of the mods and one of the longest pool slides on Disney property. The pool, slide and playground area is great and all located in one area at the main pool.

Bus service is terrific and is not shared with another resort.

Check out my CSR website and forum below. Lots of information including up-to-date convention and rehab schedules. Have a great trip!
