Have you ever been on the Dream? We are just missing each other lol. I am thinking about doing the half. But it's really a lot of money if I would have to cancel for work. I'm in the military and that's a lot of money to miss out on in case the trip had to be canceled.
We've actually never been on a Disney cruise! We've done Royal Caribbean, Carnival, and have a Princess cruise at the end of the month, but never DCL! I've sold several DCL voyages now, so I think I should go check out the product!! That's the sole purpose for the trip, I swear
runDisney is pretty strict with their entry fees. You can't get a refund or sell your registration to another person, but you can defer until the same race the following year. From the runDisney site:
"Yes we do offer a deferral program in which you can defer your registration to the same race weekend the following year. Please note there is a fee to defer your race registration. Please refer the registration tab for more information."
I'm not sure how much that really helps in your situation, but it would be one way to not completely lose your entry fee. We saw signs all over the place at the last race that they won't even mail you your t-shirt if you're no-show.
I doubt that the military gives you much notice if you're moving somewhere, but if you run for a charity, you can usually wait and register later. You'll have to meet a fundraising goal, but at least you don't have to commit your race entry fee so early. In fact, for some of them, I think you even pay little or nothing to run the race. I don't know all of the specifics, but it might be worth looking into!
Hopefully we'll get to meet up with you at WDW since we'll miss you on DCL!
