Winnie the Pooh or Harry Potter?

Since they open the same day, which will you be seeing? We probably won't see either on opening day, but I'll see Pooh first. Somehow I missed the last HP movie, so I need to catch up (even though I've read the book, and wouldn't be lost.)

Which will you be in line for this Friday?

I'll be going to see Harry Potter tomorrow. I was told a lot of the shows were already sold out. I'm going to try to get my ticket today. I'm off until Tuesday. I'm going to try to see the Pooh movie on Monday afternoon.

Well my friends just found out Winnie the Pooh is only 52 minutes, I love Pooh, but no way I'm paying $13 to watch a 52 minute film. Harry Potter it is.

My local theater is showing the Winnie the Pooh movie as 63 minutes (I wonder if they are including the previews in that time). Even with the mantinee price of $8, that is still a lot for an hour long movie. I may just wait until it's in the other theater for $6.50.

I don't think we'll see either anytime this week. I've seen a couple of the Harry Potter movies at the Drive-In near my house, so I'm hoping they'll get the new one sometime before the season ends.

Oh wow... Winnie is barely an hour give or take? Ugggg.... that may sway me to holding out till its 5 bucks for us at our theater. It may be Harry Potter for me this weekend after all... will just depend on what Jess wants to do I guess...

Harry Potter! But not this weekend...my mom will be taking the boy to her house next week for their monthly sleepover so we will go then!
Winnie the Pooh looks great but I think we will wait for the DVD. If Holden was older we might go..but he's 1 1/2 and that would be a hot mess.

Poor pitiful me will be having my knee surgery bright and early Friday morning and won't be able to go to either! wheelchair

But if I could....I want to see Pooh first, but I can't see spending that much for a movie that's only an hour, so I'd go see HP in the theater first and wait for Pooh to come out on DVD.

I am super Harry Potter obsessed so Andy and I have tickets to see it on Saturday. We would be at the midnight release tonight but Andy is up at 6am for work so it doesn't really sound like a good time to him. We both think Pooh looks really cute but are not sure if we will see it in theater at all, we don't go much cause the people almost always caused issues local and we can't often pay the higher prices other places.. We'll see it eventually.

Well I won't be seeing Harry potter cause I've never seen any of the movies or read the books... We had planned to take brooklin to see pooh this weekend but didn't realize how short it was so maybe we will be waiting on that one to... Blah... Why did they make it so short

Puh-lease tell me that is for 3-D not a regular priced movie?!?

If that's a regular movie I will never complain about movie prices again! The highest we have down here is about $8.00 and that's at the fancy theater!

Nope, $13 is for a regular, add another $2 for 3D and Imax. When you live half way between NYC and Philly things become very pricey very quickly! I don't even think we can see a matinee for $8 anymore.

I just got home from seeing Harry Potter. It was a good movie. Everyone clapped at the end. I cried in a couple of parts in the movie. Yes, I'm a sap.

I'm seeing winnie the pooh on sunday (matinee). I'm looking forward to it! Even the first compilation was only about 60 or 70 mins so I don't feel ripped off. And hey, it IS poohbear!

I've also seen the harry potter films and am a big fan of the book series. I find the theatres way too crowded even 2 or 3 weeks after opening. I just wait for the movies to come out for rental.

A few girls Dave works with went to see the midnight show last night & said they cried a throughout. It reminded me I need to bring tissues.

We went today and it was so good! I'm kind of sad I don't have a new one to look forward to, but they did a really good job with it! I did cry in parts though!

I actually got to see both this weekend, and its sad. I enjoyed Pooh Bear a lot more! lol

Dont get me wrong. I loved Harry Potter, but I wanted a twist like the others had, and the twist or the reveal was just to simplistic for me. I hadnt read the books... just saw it coming. So it kinda was a downer for me at least... but I did really like that movie, but still like 3 and 4 the best.

I went Saturday to Harry Potter and I absolutely hated it. lol I'ma bit cannon though and hated how they changed so many things in the book- if they made changes to add more action it didn't work because I thought the action was shot poorly and it was so anticlimatic! I don't want to spoil what was different or why I specifically didn't like it in case anyone hasn't seen it. I was disappointed with part 2 but did like part 1

The action I thought was ok. There was one moment I was expecting with the stone people to be more LOTR epic, and was let down by that. And yes.... I thought it was very anticlimatic as well. I think we need to start a thread just to be able to talk about it... lol

What were y'all's thoughts on Winnie the Pooh? We didn't make it to either one this weekend. I'm anxious to hear what you thought. Did it feel true to the classic?

I loved it, and loved how they made it a book. It was just soooooooooo great. You really need to see it. The humor was spot on and it had the feel of other stories you have grown up with but with a different twist. Kinda hard to explain without seeing it, but it was a great movie!

I agree... It was like the old pooh movies but with humor so it really was enjoyable for the adults as well.

I am SO excited to see Harry Potter..we are going on Thursday! I am afraid of being disappointed though because I have built it up in my head SO much!

We will probably wait for Pooh on DVD simply because we don't get to the movies that much..if we did get to go we would totally go see it!
